EA has its head up its ass. SCEA's developers are light years in advance.

NFL 2K5 is better than anything the EA Madden franchise has ever excreted, and that was a half-decade ago.

Stop supporting Madden. The only new thing you're getting is a roster update. The game gets worse every year.

You might not even get a roster update this year ;)

Last Madden I bought new was, I think, 2004 or 2005. I stopped buying it after that because the game got so bad, but picked up 2009 and 2010 versions used. Didn't buy 2011 and I don't plan on buying 2012.

Really wish 2K would make a football game and a college basketball game again (or was it EA that stopped making NCAA basketball this year?).

Yeah, but FIFA by EA is pretty damn good. So was the old rugby game I had for my PS2. I need to see if they make that for PS3. Or a cricket game.

I would kill for an Aussie Rules Football game.

Rugby makes for a fantastic video game. Great flow to it.

Virtually nothing changed in Madden '11. Even the stat overlays and scorebugs are identical to '10.

Madden is incapable of growth and progression as it pertains to improving all aspects of the game. Madden's penalties have been a fiasco for at least five years. They can't even take the time to fix that. After 15 years of development, you still can't shovel pass in the game. After 15 years of development, Madden still doesn't present realistic, intricate blocking schemes or allow for the ability to create hybrid defenses. Realistic time in the pocket -- nonexistent. Special teams players that block logically and intuitively, nuh-uh. Trick plays are a joke. On and on.

Didn't Madden 11 add the coach playcalling and gameplan system? I kind of like that, though I know most didn't.

2K made by far the better college hoops game, but that's inconsequential now since EA has stopped making them altogether. EA's NHL games have always been really good.

You could kind of, sort of do it in the NCAA football games. Call an option play out of a shotgun formation, then flip it at the line. If you do it right the RB would run in front of the QB and you could it flip it to him, resulting in a shovel pass instead of a pitch.
I suppose there's not a lot of option plays in the Madden playbook, though.

Finally finished Assassin's Creed 2, was really pleased with the ending. Now it makes me want to go get Brotherhood, but I have Bad Company 2 to finish, followed by Portal 2, maybe Killzone 3, and then the wait until Battlefield 3 comes out.
    I am such a dork.

The only FPS games I can stand are the Modern Warfare and Halo series. And only when it's multiplayer. I just can't get into any FPS game for some reason.

I'm the opposite, I can't stand multiplayer. I hate the idiots that just talk smack for hours on end. People say just turn down the TV and listen to music, but I like hearing the game because then I know where a bullet is coming from (stereo headphones).
