To be fair, if you win the local event -- which consists of one nine-hole qualifier against a bunch of people who can't shoot -- you get to the Amateur Tour right away. I'm already on the Nationwide Tour after just one Amateur Tour round, because all you had to do was win that.

So how is the new Tiger? Worth $60?

Pretty fun so far. I didn't play any of the next gen Tiger games before '12 so I really can't compare. Last one I owned was '08 for the PS2.

Took me two events to get to the Nationwide. Finished second in my first event and won the second.

Putting is a little different than some past Tiger games. Not that difficult, but reading the green is everything (like in real golf).

I got Tiger 10 and like this one much better (even moreso once I get used to the putting).

I canS't get past the first level of GoldenEye Wii. Seems pathetic, but I'm terrible at these newer first-person shooters.

Anyone trying the new NASCAR game?

FYI -- save your focus points until the end of a round. Otherwise your damn putting indicator disappears and you're apt to put up a snowman + deux on the 18th hole to go from even par to five over. Not like I just did that or anything. :(

Good point on the focus. Although I tend to forget about it, so I don't use it often. Maybe it would help my putting if I used it more.

Or maybe I shouldn't listen to the caddie's advice so strictly.

It's taking me a while to get used to the putting, but it's getting better.

My difficulty is touch. Caddy says 55 percent. I take a half swing (I think) and it's 90. WTF?

I am completely obsessed with this Tiger Woods game now. Starting to get a little peeved at how good the CPU can be in these training sessions. Just had a match play session with Boo Weekley in which he won by bombing a 70-foot fucking putt for birdie. Not cool.

Also, Bethesda announced today it's coming out with a patch in the next couple of weeks for Fallout that's supposed to take care of the freezing/locking out issues. There's also supposed to be more downloadable content.

Is the putting circle disappearing for some of y'all on TW? It happened to me this morning.

There I am, leading Tiger hisowndamnself by one shot at the Texas Open at TPC San Antonio. I'm on the 15, maybe 16, green and have a long birdie putt. No problem. I'll lag for par. Except the cup is on the side of a hill. And the aiming circle is nowhere to be found. OK, I remember my old trick to putting in a previous Tiger game on PS2.

I get it close, but the ball rolls back down the slope and I've got a 20 footer for par. No aiming circle for that one either. Again, close with my putt. Again, the ball rolls back. I finally finish with a triple bogey and Tiger wins by two shots.

I think that has to do with course mastery, focus level, and ability ... It's happened to me a couple of times in crunch situations.

Got my invite to Augusta yesterday. I was so nervous, I decided to take a couple of days before I play.

I think bydesign hit it on the head. Happened once or twice to me too.

I may have to skip the Masters my first season, since I'm not in the top 100 yet. I missed a cut in that tournament on the China course.

I've moved up in the rankings every week, just not enough. I still have one tourney left before the Masters, but I may have to win at East Lake to get top 100.
