And less than half a month after it's released, Infamous 2 comes out for the PS3.

Another one I'm anxiously awaiting since the first one was damn good.

Finished it not too long ago and returned it before seven days passed. Definitely frustrating near the end, but rewarding.

Somewhat random question - Is anyone else into simming entire seasons of sports games and basically acting as the general manager? I've always been a fan of stuff like Baseball Mogul, which I thought balanced the fun aspects of the job well without making things too tedious. (Out of the Park was a bit too much management for my tastes.)

However, I've been jonesing for that kind of light sim fun in some other sports. I love the recruiting in College Hoops 2K5, which also had a good balance to me - the later games got a bit too complicated by having you trying to recruit high school underclassmen. NHL 2005 was fun, but lacked some accessibility / display options.

The last Madden game I have is 2003 (sad, I know), so could anyone recommend the best "franchise" sim mode of the newer installments for me? I did try out Head Coach and found it to be pretty ick. Are any of the new baseball games worth purchasing for their sim aspects?

In Madden or NCAA or any sort of game like that, I like to sim games not in my conference and just play the ones in my conference. Makes you try a bit harder in FA or recruiting and hiring/firing coaches.

I try to resist as best I can :) In the NCAA games, normally in the first or second year, I'll play my team's game if they get in a conference tournament final for a small conference team. Typically, it's the only way you're going to qualify for the NCAA tournament, and just getting into that normally guarantees you a midmajor job.

Likewise. Any game with Ken Cosgrove in it has to be good.

I've been playing MVP Baseball 2005 for the PC. It's an old game, but the amount of mods third-party folks have made for it are incredible. Never thought I'd play a game Sicks Stadium or the L.A. Coliseum.

I miss the MVP series. Such a damn good baseball game.

I picked up MLB 2K11 a few days ago, and I gotta say the critics were wrong. I love the game, and I'm glad I didn't listen to them. The game play is pretty much the same as 2K10, but there are a lot of little things they've improved on that make the game better.

Out of the Park Baseball is king of the text-based sims. A baseball nerdlet's wet dream.
