Finally won my first tournament, the Australia Cup at Royal Melbourne.

Actually tied at -16, thanks to missing a two-foot tap for bogey on 18. Kinda bullshit, but it gave me the win anyway, despite being tied. No playoff.

And if you want to talk about some crazy pin placements, play Costa Novarino.

Mass Effect 2 is life. Life is Mass Effect 2.

Man, this game is addicting. I held off playing it for so long because I was trying to play ME1, but it wouldn't take to two different PCs I have, and I only have a PS3. But a friend recommended I just go ahead and play ME2, and good lord, is it a fun and fulfilling experience.

I had some free time (when I wasn't busy being sick), so I marathon-played the past couple days, and just beat it. Bioware knows how to make an experience.

Just finished that course and what actually prompted me to write about pin placements.

I too had a tie at the end of round four - I forget what course - and was expecting a playoff. Nope.

THEY ARE NOT PIN PLACEMENTS! THEY ARE HOLE LOCATIONS!

    And they are bullshit, sometimes.

What level of difficulty are you guys playing?

Does it really make a difference what people call it?

It's partially a joke, spawned by an encounter with a GSGA official. And partially to do with the fact that the flagstick isn't a pin, and where the location of the hole is a hole location, not a pin placement.

Just like it isn't pin high, it's hole high.

Definitely a great game. Played ME2 before ME1. Have ME1 now, and it's not as good. It's enjoyable, but nowhere in the league of ME2 in my opinion.

Whatever the default one is. I created my character, did very little tweaking to appearance and set off for the links.

Depending on where you've worked and what events you've covered, it actually does matter. I'm familiar with what BD77 is talking about. Trust me. It does matter to some people.

I played my first season on Pro. That's when I won all four FedEx Cup events and nothing was particularly close. Moved to Tour Pro, and everything is much harder. You can't just hit toward a green and bullshittingly (I just made that word up) spin the ball toward the hole. You actually have to hit close to get birdie opportunities. Like in real golf. I won in Hawaii on Tour Pro, but I've been getting my ass handed to me of late. Went 82-86 at Augusta in my first try. Greens are freaking diabolical. Somehow went 79-79 on the weekend in San Antonio after that. I'll be happy if I break 90 at Sawgrass this week. Yikes.

It's weird - I watched a buddy playing ME2 a couple months ago, and I immediately thought, "Wow I have to play this game." It just oozes quality, and it's right in my wheelhouse since I love RPGs and just reading about space exploration / fiction (Clarke) in general.

Can't wait for the third installment. I might give Jade Empire a whirl on my PC (if it works) in an attempt to hold me over. My next GameFly game is also probably going to be a good one - Next in my queue are the FFIV Collection, LA Noire and some other new games.

Alright, you talked me into LA Noire... Not usually my cup o' tea, but it sounds interesting...
