I was going to pick it up today before work but I didn't leave the house in time. Guess I'll get it tomorrow.

Please share your thoughts. If plays as smooth as '11 (or better) with some actual worthy adds, I'll get it and Madden.

It's kind of weird that this new generation of consoles seems to have the highest rate of technical glitches. Maybe there's just more things to go blooey. I still have my SNES (works well, last I checked), a PS2 that runs like a champ after eight years, an XBox that was bought used and still works well, and a Wii.
Haven't invested in a 360 or PS3 (mainly because I don't have a newer TV for it yet), but the red ring of death and PS3 issues definitely have me thinking twice about it. The new generation of online-heavy games are also a bit of a turnoff. Can't help but think that, when the servers are switched off in a few years, a lot of these games are going to suck because they're so reliant on the multiplayer aspect.

    This is great.

I like to punch in the roster for the team I use, in this case, Virginia Tech. I really could care less about the rest of the teams, because you end up playing dynasty seasons so quickly that all of today's players are cycled through rather fast. Anyway, VT has a kid named Wang on the team, and EA won't let me put that in because it's a profanity. Same with a kid named Vandyke.

Also, on the NCAA 12 gameplay. I like it so far. Seems like a much smoother engine for running plays than there was in NCAA 10, the last one I bought. No idea how it differs from 11. I'm toying with the idea of creating an entire new lineup of conferences for a couple of years down the road. That's really a great function in this game.

Anyone here remember Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2 for the original Playstation?

    Ah... So many good memories.

I haven't bought a Madden or NCAA game in about 4-5 years. It all just seemed like yearly roster updates for the low price of $60.

I feel the same way, which is why I never buy one of these games more than once every two years. They've made some massive improvements with NCAA 12. It plays like a completely different game than '10. So it's been worth it.

Yea, that's the way I feel too. I got NCAA the last three years now. Not really planning on getting it this year, though.

Too many other games to get through or finish up.

For hardcore Madden people, the small changes/upgrades are enough to fall in love with each new version.

Depends on how much you like the game, I guess.

Not enough for me. I have to be somewhat frugal with my video game purchases (consider our profession...well, no shit).

I can't afford to plunk $60 down on every new and shiny thing or every first-person shooter that looks damn near identical to the others.

That said, I haven't bought one in a few years so it might be time. Hell, where I live there is nothing to do let alone coming home after midnight. Books, video games and the bar are really about it.

    I always choose the bar.

That said, put the cost of a few casual nights at the bar together, and there's your video game paid for.

For me, I choose the beer.
