Good point, even though the price of drinks here is about as low as it gets, one night to break up the monotony costs about $15 at least.

I think part of it revolves around the fact that the three big consoles are the most popular consoles in history, so high demand will equate to more issues. My PS3 started overheating a couple months ago and now gets a little loud during gameplay (although I think it's the weather because when it's winter and freezing cold, not many issues).

Getting started on inFAMOUS 2. So far, so good. It's pretty similar to the first but I loved the first so that's not a bad thing.

So does anyone that played LA Noire read Michael Connelly? I have a theory about something...

So I have been sucked into Minecraft. If you haven't heard of it, you should look for it on the web. Sure, it looks like poor graphics and since there are no missions it's not your average game. However, I bought it two weeks ago and have not spent a day not playing at least an hour digging and building, digging and building. Really, it is hands down the best independent game I have ever played, and will be one of the first people to get the mobile version for my PS Phone when it comes out this fall. Really great game.

I've bought NCAA every year since either 2000 or 2001. Can't say the same for Madden, though I eventually caved in and picked up 2009 and 2010 well after they both came out. Borrowed 2011 from a friend to see what all the fuss was about with the new play-calling options, and absolutely hated it.

Not sure if I'll buy Madden this year or not. I'm leaning toward no.

As someone who's really into Franchise mode, I think I might pick up Madden this year. The prospect of having to play the role of The Turk and gradually cut down rosters throughout the preseason sounds intriguing (as does the new rookie scouting system).

I think I'm more interested in this year and next year with all the roster changes that are coming. Usually, there isn't much other than rookies that you can't easily do yourself, but with the lockout and the upcoming deluge of free agency it's going to be interesting.

Anyone having issues getting adjusted to the pass defense on NCAA 12? It seems a lot tougher than in years past, at least to me, to get much of anything going in the passing game. Through the first three games as Boise State, I had thrown -- IIRC -- six INTs and just three touchdowns with Kellen Moore. Is it just me, or is anyone else seeing results like this?

Granted, I played Oklahoma, Alabama and Stanford in those games -- OU and Bama were No. 1 when I beat them -- and then played at Washington State (moved Boise into the Pac-12 and created a 16-team super conference) and threw seven TD passes.

We have a couple different Minecraft servers if you want in. One is using the Too Many Items mod, the other is a standard game

The pass defense is one of the most unrealistic things ever programmed in a sports video game, IMO. Not only the INT rate, but how linebackers jump EVERYTHING.

Also, if you run the play Four Verticals and there's a safety sitting in cover 2, he'll automatically follow the outside receiver because he should be deeper.

If it's a strictly zone cover 2, this will leave the inside receiver open, but as soon as you tap the button to pass to him, the safety breaks out of his coverage to cover the open receiver you chose to throw to. He doesn't look over his shoulder, then break on the pass, there's no lag between hitting the button and him jumping the coverage. It's an automatic reaction.

EA promised zone defense would be fixed this year, but all the company did was make it even worse. Seems like a blatant lie to the consumer.

I can't figure out which game is worse, '12 or '07 (I'd average more than 2 blocked kicks a game in '07).

But, ask anyone in the industry and they'd probably tell you the same thing: Electronic Arts stands for everything that's wrong in the video game industry today. Can't expect much more.

As another example, I ran a slants play against Alabama a few times out of different formations. A wideout or TE would get open every stinking time, I'd go to throw to them and without fail, a linebacker who was going to cover the outside WR or TE would jump back and either bat the ball down or pick it off.

And throwing the ball down field? Forget about it, unless you're playing a crappy defense like Washington State. Each and every time I'd go deep with Moore, there would be four or five defenders there waiting on the ball.

I also hate how defenders seemingly jump through receivers without interference getting called on them. I love the game, but those things really piss me off.
