I downloaded the original Resident Evil games onto my PS3 a while back (Director's Cut, RE2, and RE3). Still get scared shitless every time a pack of zombie dogs burst through the window.

Oddly enough, I was just about to post that I'm re-playing through FF8 (waiting for LA Noire to actually get in my mailbox). It's weird to think that all these games were once seen as really awesome graphically. Now, I squint and can barely make out where I need to go and what I have to do or pick-up.

I loved MGS, but I could never actually hit the buttons fast enough to save Meryl. I finally cracked, and using my DexDrive (an awesome device that let you upload your memory files to your computer, and download files from the Internet to put on your memory card), I just got a saved file just past that point, to see the "good" ending.

Cruising along in Infamous 2. I've finished the good storyline (So f-n sad!) and am about half-way though the bad storyline (Got about 81 percent of the total trophies and well on my way to the platinum).

While I like it, it's clearly not as good as the first one and that sucks. I blame it mostly on the new guy voicing McGrath. I really feel like he's missing what the guy from the first one brought in.

And as much as I enjoyed several aspects of this game, it didn't connect with me the way the first one did.

Still, hard to get much more fun out of $60.

On an unrelated note, I'm thinking about picking up Madden 2012. Anyone heard anything about it yet?

OK, Bastion is GREAT. If you have an Xbox 360, I highly recommend dropping $15 on this. It's also a very long game in terms of being an Arcade download. It has a really unique style, both in terms of art, narration and being an action RPG. Played for about six hours yesterday.

Once you beat the game, I believe, there is still more to do to work toward 100 percent completion and some extra achievements.

On NCAA 12, I've found the same thing. There's got to be a middle ground. I'm not sure how the hell defenses are sending the house on blitzes while simultaneously covering every receiver. I'll mess with the sliders. I don't want to drop back to Varsity because it was waaaaaaay too easy, especially when I'm on defense.

Here, check this out. Turns out to be a good (lucky) play, but due to the crazy pass rush in this game, I had to do a seven-step drop out of the gun:

I've been the same way with NES and SNES games on the Wii. It's a shame they've pretty much abandoned releasing games on the virtual console. It's down to about one a month now.

Lately I've been playing an old RPG for the SNES called "Uncharted Waters: New Horizons." It basically plunks you down in 1522 and turns you loose. You sail around the world doing pirate-type things or trading, or follow the story. It's somewhere between a primitive version of the modern sandbox games and old-school RPGs like Dragon Warrior and the early Final Fantasy games.
It was made by Koei, which if you're familiar with them it'll tell you a lot. They're famous for these types of ridiculously deep games like Nobunaga's Ambition and the PTO series. This one follows that same lineage. You almost need an economics degree to figure out the nuances of trading goods.
Thank God there's a decent online community still devoted to it. I'd be lost without them, and probably would've cursed spending $8 bucks instead of enjoying an incredible game.

I've been thinking about picking up a PSone from Vintage Stock just to play the first three Resident Evil games. I could get the remastered versions on GameCube, but it's not the same.

Picked up Banjo Tooie for the N64 last week. I'm so glad I never got rid of my old systems.

If you have a PS2, it's backward compatible with the PS1. Not sure about the PS3 to PS1.

I'm playing Final Fantasy 8 on my PS3 with no issues. It's actually much easier, since it lets you emulate the memory card on the PS3's internal memory. You don't have save states or anything, but you don't have to worry about switching between PS2 and PS1 memory cards, like on the PS2.

I tweaked the sliders, pass defense down to 35 and pass rush to 30, and it's a little better -- though not much. The linebackers still make insanely difficult plays, the DBs still automatically turn and take off for the receiver I'm throwing to. It's not as frustrating as it was, but it's pretty annoying.

They've released Sid Meier's Pirates! for the iPad. I wasted countless hours playing that on my Commodore 64. I intend to do the same now.
