Glad I read this thread before dropping $60 NCAA 12.

Hopefully Madden is worth a buy this season.

I'm three trophies away from getting the platinum for Infamous 2.

    I'm such a trophy whore. :)

I also played that a ton in my youth. I downloaded it via Xbox arcade a couple years ago and still enjoyed it.

Another Sid Meier game available for consoles is Civilization Revolutions (CivRev as its commonly known). Basically just like his Civilization games, but slightly easier to maneuver and stuff on the console. Available for 360 and PS3.

    Same here with Achievements.

Speaking of Civilization, has anyone played Civ 5? I still play Civ 4 whenever I find the time.

With trade-ins and all that, I only paid $5 for the game -- the $5 required to reserve it at GameStop.

I'm in the title game with Boise against Oklahoma, which finished 11-2 and won the Big 12 after dropping its first two games to me and Florida State. Two teams finished 11-1 (Notre Dame and Oklahoma State), but OU somehow jumped ND for that No. 2 spot in the BCS.

The more I play NCAA 12, the more I wonder if it was actually designed by people who don't know hardly anything about football.

One thing the developers promised was diving catch animations for passes that are out of average reach. Well, I throw a ball right in front of a receiver on a crossing route and he doesn't even put his hands out.

Or worse, the ball hits a wide open receiver in the facemask or chest and falls to the ground.

    SO FRUSTRATING!!!

A good friend of mine from childhood is a video game developer now and we were talking the other day about how kids in this generation don't understand to hidden joy in throwing your controller against the wall because the NES game you're playing makes you so mad. In most games today, there's difficulty, but it's fair unlike the 16- and 8-bit days.

Well, this game might change that.

I actually don't mind that in a college football game, since that actually happens in college football. I think the least realistic aspect of most football (and other sports) games is that the injuries and stupid errors tend to be downplayed. I've played entire seasons of Madden in the past without having any injuries.
