Just finished my first game, a 42-0 beatdown of the Jaguars in the preseason.

So far, I like it. The gameplay is much smoother than it's been in a while and though I can't remember if Gus Johnson was the lead guy in previous Maddens (I rarely played from 07-11), I'm really liking what he's bringing to the table here.

Love that I can actually run the ball now. That's a nice little feature that's been missing recently and I can't wait to really crack this sucker open this weekend. :)

Yeah, I only played '11 twice.

And, on that note, I'm going to dive in for the next hour or so ...

For you FPS fans, a bunch of new Call of Duty: MW3 details have been released. Enjoy: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/video-games/8740159/Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-3-multiplayer-details-revealed.html

    New multiplayer details revealed...

"Killstreaks have been redesigned and renamed pointstreaks. Rather than streaks being handed out just for straight kills, players can now earn additional rewards by completing other game objectives. Players can choose between three strike packages at the loadout screen, which reward pointstreaks in different ways.

The Assault package offers similar direct damage equipment to Modern Warfare 2's killstreak rewards, such as Predator drones and helicopters, with your streak resetting on death. The Support package gives you access to gadgets such as UAV's and turrets, these streaks do not reset on death. While the Specialist package is aimed at more proficient players, handing out additional perks to their soldier which last until death. Deathstreaks, which give struggling players an extra boost, return after their absence from Call of Duty Black Ops. Infinity Ward have also confirmed they will be cutting certain overpowered streak rewards, such as nuke and One Man Army. Other tweaks, such as no longer being able to carry a shotgun as a secondary weapon have been implemented to help balance the game."

New game modes revealed as well:

"There are a handful of new game modes too. Kill Confirmed, which has you collecting dogtags from fallen enemies to score points; Team Defender has one team member carrying a flag to earn points while his squadmates protect him. In addition to these public match options, more modes will be available in private match setups. One in the Chamber and Gun Game make the leap from Black Ops, while all new modes include Infection, which has players killing enemies in order to recruit them to their team; Drop Zone has players controlling specified areas to receive extra support, while Juggernaut has an AI super-charged character accompanying each team."

If any of you are PS3 owners, add me for your Madden online games.

    I love this year's version.

anyone messed around with the MUT yet? They brought back the Madden cards in this version. Very awesome.

Love the preseason now as well. Haven't played since Thursday but I'm already in Week 2 against San Fran.

Yeah, I love this year's version too. Best one I've ever played (in terms of gameplay). I'm about five games into my first franchise season and it's been a blast.

Just starting season two with the Bills and I only play division games and simulate the rest. Scouting feature is neat, somewhat tedious, but overall I like it. Games seem to go by faster this year. Going to put the clock at 10 minutes I think.

I wish online gameplay was set at All-Pro instead of Pro. Maybe it's All-Pro, but seems like Pro. Takes a bit to get used to the switch beween franchise and online play. I play on All-Madden, but that would be tough for online gameplay. Lots of low scores I'm sure.

Game is great. The Texans are fun to play with online BTW. Quick defense and enough weapons on offense to do damage. And they're only rated an 82 or so.

Also getting sick of teams taking the Eagles, then again, it's just like when Vick was with the Falcons.

I hadn't played Madden for a while until this year, so I don't know if this is new, but I like how it has the ? over some attributes that you unlock by playing with them in preseason.

Yeah that's new. It's a part of the rookie scouting. Also, you get to scout potential draft picks for the coming year. Like if you know your QB is near retirement, and you scout for the next big thing, you can scout QBs coming up in the next draft and they'll give you information about their true rating.

    Very cool.

Already on the search for better safeties and CBs for Dallas :D

Does anyone do sim-only franchise seasons? If so, how is that working out? I love the management aspects of these games, seeing if I can build winners without actually playing, so I'm always interested in that aspect of the game. Have they improved from past versions, where it was a pain to manage how many players you have at a position, and what their age, rating and contract situation is?

The only playing in my franchise I do is division games. I sim playoffs and any other game. I too love the management aspect of the game. I love drafting, free agency, and trades.
