Vacuum the PS3. Don't use a dust remover (in a can) as it will blow crap back into your PS3 and its fans. Attach a hose to the vacuum, literally place it against the plastic and suck the crap out. I recommend doing this a couple times a month every month to take care of the fans.

hm, Interesting! Any chance this'll fix the red light of doom issue...?

You mean yellow light of death? lol... 360 has the red ring, and I'm not sure what the red light of doom is exactly. My PS3 (bought off eBay in August 2009) has REAL loud fans, but it seems to be worse in warm weather months. Sometimes it will go into airplane mode (fans on full power) for 10 minutes and then will calm down. The way Sony built the fans in the non-slim PS3s is idiotic.

But yeah, you should give it a shot for sure. No reason not to.

I have added a laptop chill pad to the mix on PS3 cause mine would go into "airplane mode" (I like that) too and it's helped immensely.

No - mine will just shut off abruptly while I'm playing. It'll go straight off, to a flashing red light. No yellow. I assume it's the same thing as the yellow light of death (which my system never experienced, oddly enough).

So I just watched the IGN video review of Rage and was very disappointed. I received an 8.5 and Editor's Choice Award, but the way it described the story (or lack thereof) really bummed me out. Being a game by id, I expected it to not being great with the storyline. If anyone remembers Doom 3 and how great the graphics were (though not the physics), that was overshadowed by the fact the entire game revolved around a couple missions where you're told to go somewhere, but by the time you reach the destination, you're too late and have to somewhere else to find the item (repeat x100). That sounds like what Rage is.

Awesome commercial by Sony that PS3 fans will definitely appreciate. Let's play "Spot The Characters".

    Anybody play NHL 12 yet?

I'm interested ... just holding off on buying it for a bit. Not a whole lot of time now in the middle of college football season. Plus, it usually goes on sale at Best Buy sometime in November.

I've thought about picking that up, but I'll wait and see how long it takes until Game Stop or Best Buy have it on sale.

Yeah, I got NHL '10 a couple of years back in November, sometime around Black Friday for $37.99. Played the shit out of that game for a good two years.

That is tremendous. Loved the cameos by "Joe Mauer" and "Troy Polamalu" (I think it was Polamalu; somebody in a USC jersey).

Does anyone have Turtle Beach headsets? I was thinking about getting the $40-50 ones and am trying to decide if it's worth it? Reviews are good and are obviously not going to be the quality of the $150 ones, but I have to think they'll do a lot better job than TV sound (my big screen has pretty decent speakers, but I don't have a sound system).
