It'll stop when they make everything DLC and make it affordable for every gamer. Until then, GameStop lives. I know GS gets a bad rap on the net, but the one near my hometown is pretty good.

I don't mind GameStop. I'm just saying, it's heading that way quickly. I mean, when was the last time you actually bought a physical CD?

It's been a while since I bought a CD. RHCP's Stadium Arcadium was the last one I bought, and that came out in 2006.

Rumor has it that's the plan with PS4 and whatever the next-gen XBox is called. Game developers allegedly already have the beta versions of the PS4, if you believe industry rumors.

New Xbox will apparently be called the 720.

Also: Now that MLB's exclusivity contract is up with Take Two, anyone here think EA dives back into the college baseball world along with the MLB game they're going to come out with? I had MVP 06 and 07 on PS2 and loved both, even though there were issues with them. But those games launched the style everyone uses in baseball games these days, so I guess you could call it a trailblazer. Those games were great, even though they were very limited in just about every aspect.

I can't imagine that NCAA baseball game sold enough units to be profitable. Or, at least, profitable enough to continue making it.

As is, you can buy most games from the PS3 store - it's normally a little bit cheaper, but not enough that I wouldn't want the case and the ability to re-sell. GameFly is pretty neat, but it's mostly useful if you like certain types of games - ones with good singleplayer vs. multiplayer - since obviously you need an online key for most multiplayer now.

Yeah. Otherwise they would have kept making it.

Now that's a dedicated gamer to play CivII for 10 years ...

How did it take him 10 years to do that...? I have Civilization for the SNES and I've played into the 2500s or 3000s I think, and it doesn't really take that long. (I don't have any experience with Civ2 though, so maybe they redo the time mechanics or something.)

College baseball game was fun, but it was only developed because EA couldn't legally make a MLB title so they were trying to compensate. Problem was NCAA baseball not having a big enough market, although I feel it was stronger then compared to now.

In addition, the rosters on each were from the previous season opposed to the active, which was really annoying.
