So. Does Madden 2012 come with replacement refs? If not that should be the next highest difficulty above All-Madden. Imagine trying to run a play with that setting?

That game is a ton of fun. I still play it quite a bit ... My crowning achievement was getting Djibouti within a point of advancing to the main draw. Egypt's in their group though. Tough to advance out of that.

    Madden 12 won't ... but Madden 13 might.

So, XBOX 360 repair question. I've got three blinking red lights. The XBox site says it's a power supply issue, and the fact that my power supply light is green means that I have to send in my XBox for repair. But since my warranty is expired, I ave to pay $99. Not the end of the world, but money is tight. So I was wondering if anyone knew what exactly the problem was, and if there was a cheaper fix. Thanks.

So glad I passed on getting that game this year.

    Amraeder,

There are numerous web sites that will tell you how to "fix" the RROD (the towel technique, etc.), but even if it works, it is just temporary.

You could also look on craigslist. There might be some people in your area advertising to fix it.

Yeah, it's complete rubbish IMO and this is coming from a die hard Madden gamer. I was going to try and trade it in for NHL 13, but I think EA has ruined all offline franchises across its genres. I hope this backlash will be enough for the NFL to allow more than one developer have the license.

As for the xbox - I've seen them go on craigslist for under $100.

So I spent much of the last year playing through everything I could on Skyrim. I think I've exhausted what I want to do with it, and I ask my fellow nerds: is it worth playing Oblivion now? Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game. Will it be too much of a step back?

Obviously, since it's an older game, graphics aren't as good in Obliviion.

Overall gameplay is roughly the same. There are a few slight differences in different aspects, like leveling up.

I also played Skyrim first (still playing it too). I started to play Oblivion just for a break. I haven't got that far into it, though.

I have read Morrowind, which was the one before Oblivion, is a lot different than the two later ones.

I played a bit of Morrowind on my PC when it came out, and maybe played 3 to 5 hours before giving up. In contrast, I went 50 hours straight on Skyrim before anything else got into my PS3. IIRC, Morrowind is much more true to the Ultima / Baldur's Gate / D&D kind of roots of the series.
