Apparently MLB and 2K reached a deal this week to keep the 2K series alive.

    Fantastic. ... Not.

I may get the game, simply because baseball games are typically a must-have for me, but they've got a lot of things to improve on. For starters, get rid of the MLB Today shit. If they do that, I'll be happy.

    Skyrim.

  3. I second this. I got Skyrim for Christmas and it's incredibly addictive.

Thirded. It will take over your life, but you'll never have more fun losing track of your family and friends. And it's a fucking gorgeous game.

I put it away for a good six months after beating the main story and started going back exploring all the places I missed. Still a ton of fun. Just waiting for the Dragonborn DLC to be ready for the PS3. Technical glitches delayed it.

If EA would just put the new engine from Madden 13 into the layout of Madden 12, it would be amazing. Sigh.

As the others have said, Skyrim if you're looking for an action-based RPG. If you want one that's much more JRPG feeling, then Tales of Graces f is super nerdy and deep - the main game took me about 75 hours, plus there is an epilogue that's supposed to be another 20 to 30 hours that I haven't played yet. Shooting RPG, the Mass Effect Trilogy just came out for PS3, 360 and PC. Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2 have their faults, but both are decent action RPGs and are only around $10 to $20 each now.

If you're looking for something turn-based, the pickings are a bit more slim. Disgaea 3 and 4 on the PS3. The Persona games for the PSP and Vita. If you have a backwards compatible PS3, that might be your best option, since then you have access to a lot of now "classic" PS2 RPGs that aren't real expensive (Dragon Quest 8, Final Fantasy 10 and 10-2 and 12, Suikoden 3, 4 and 5, Shadow Hearts, etc.). Also, check out the PSN Store, which has a lot of those games available for digital download.

I bought Madden on Black Friday, and I've loved it. But I've only played online, so I wouldn't notice the multiplayer stuff that seems to cause most of the complaints.

Did you get the Dawnguard or Hearthfire expansion?

Dawnguard was fairly short, but the chance to be a vampire was pretty cool.

And I'll say it was fun building different houses, adding different wings to each one.

None of the DLC is out for PS3. They're not sure they'll ever release it.

I've only played an offline connected career. Is that mode better online?

Read somewhere today that Dragonborn will be released fairly soon, maybe by the end of the month.
