Wow - There is a pretty big jump in quality starting with (I think) 12. At least, the recruiting is a lot better, since you no longer have the stupid system where the prospect hangs the phone up on you. If you want to ween yourself toward 14, 12 is probably like $5 now.

As far as dynasty league goes, unfortunately I have a PS3 :/ It would be neat if a company like EA managed to find out a way to allow 360 and PS3 crossplay, but I doubt that'll ever happen. They'd be one of the few third-party developers and publishers that might have enough stroke to get away with it though.

The game dramatically changes for 12. Almost a completely different feel. It took me a while to get used to it, but that was one of the best I've played -- until 13 came out, of course.

sgreenwell: I know Tommy and I have talked about a PS3 dynasty before, so perhaps we can get one going for us.

I might be up for the NCAA dynasty again too, though I don't think I've played my Xbox in at least three months (oh mercy I'm getting old). Definitely getting 14 though, because it has my alma mater in it.

Updated list for the 360 NCAA dynasty:

Myself, Jake, amraeder with maybes from Mystery Meat and Madhavok. Other possibilities include Azgrad (if we can locate him).

I'm hyped for NCAA 14. My favorite game release and usually the only one I buy. I'll probably get GTA V also, the trailer looks stupid awesome.

Same here. Wii is the first console I ever owned (my parents didn't want me to have a video gaming system as a kid because they were afraid it was all I would do) aside from GameCube. I don't really see myself going away from Nintendo systems because I like Mario games. However, I don't have the extra cash in the bank for the WiiU or any of the $60 games for it. Plus, the only game that has really caught my attention has been the new Super Mario Brothers.

My problem with GTA games, and rockstar games in general, is that I get super excited for them, but never end up finish them. I'm not sure why. I just lose interest after a while. (While I can play a skyrim game, NCAA or a Civ game for hundreds of hours.)

I'm kind of the same way. When you can do anything in a game, I tend to lose interest because those games can be so unfocused. I did recently platinum Sleeping Dogs, which is basically Asian GTA, because it was free for PS+ subscribers. Interesting little game, only took me about 30 hours to finish every aspect, and it's in that $5 to $20 range now depending on whether you get it used or new.

My buying plans for this year are NCAA, NHL 14 and GTA V. ... Usually go every other year on college football and hockey and I'm still playing 12 on both. NHL 12 is still a blast. In my fifth season of Be A GM mode. Kinda cool to see the prospects you draft finally make it to the show and be impact players.

Once I saw NHL 13 had the same connected careers crap Madden introduced, I was out. I went out and got 12 for dirt cheap (something like $10 at Game Stop) and am in my fourth or fifth season with Blackhawks in GM mode. I just sim through everything and have salary caps turned off (I know, I know) so I just keep everyone around for several years.

The problem for me with San Andreas was after I did all the story line stuff, I have no desire to do all the other stuff.

Yeah, I got to about 80 percent completion in San Andreas ... Vice City is sort of the same way. Didn't really care to do the insane jumps and what not. I'm actually replaying Vice City now. Downloaded it from the PS store for $9.99. Graphics are outdated, but damn, that game holds up remarkably well.
