Looks like there are a bunch of minor bug fixes in an NCAA 14 patch today: http://www.easports.com/ncaa-football/news-updates-gameplay/article/ncaa-14-patch-2

As a warning, it took me about 20 minutes to download and install, since it seems like their server is getting hammered with people downloading.

Anyone else doing the Ultimate Team thing for NCAA 14? I am, just because I normally try to shoot to platinum games when I can, but yikes. One of the trophies requires that you win an UT championship, which basically means winning a bunch of matchmaker games in a "season" format. While I consider myself an OK player, I'm just getting bulldozed by some of these people playing online. There are some user vs. comp challenges you can do for some coins, and a chance to upgrade your team, but you can't repeat them to re-earn the coins.

And of course, the next game I play, the guy throws five picks, clearly doesn't know how to no-huddle on offense, and is using f-bombs the entire time on the mic. Good times, good times.

Paid off my pre-order of Diablo 3 for PS3. Also saved $10 when I forgot I had prepaid $5 for Skyrim and the Skyrim strategy guide. Thank you awesome and damn cute Gamestop blonde :D

A few beefs I have with NCAA 14.

Too many coordinators take a coaching job at a smaller school (UNLV in my dynasty) go 9-4 or 10-3 and leave after one year. UNLV has had three one-year coaches in my seven seasons. Two were coordinators they hired from my school.

Just because I commit a turnover doesn't necessarily mean the other team has to score every fucking time.

About the coordinators, yeah, I definitely see what you mean.

HOWEVER, Miami was able to hire Gary Pinkel as its offensive coordinator and his coaching skill tree was maxed to 34 already. That was pretty nice.

  7. All you Madden folks, what's the verdict?

May use my gas mileage check next month to give it a go.

Haven't heard a peep about it. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Maybe none of the folks playing have come up for air yet.

It's getting butchered by many Madden folks. Reviews are pretty bad. IGN gave it an 8.5, but it's IGN.
I doubt I'll buy it. '13 was a waste of money and I'd rather not make the same mistake on 25.

I haven't bought Madden since '11 and I think this one is pretty good. Took some getting used to but I liked it. Looking forward to messing around with the ultimate team later, I love the ultimate team in the NHL franchise

I don't think you need to buy Madden, or even NCAA each year, for that matter, unless you're in something like an online dynasty league with buddies. It seems like there are enough changes in a two or three-year span to warrant a purchase, but even then, it's tough for me to pull the trigger because of how much sports games lose value. Like the week before NCAA 14 came out, I bought 13 used for about $5. Any other popular game, you can normally get at least $10 to $15 for it if you want to sell at some point.
