Anybody have a Wii that won't play SSB: Brawl? Mine plays it most of the time, but the game has crashed the Wii more times than all the other games I have combined, and I've only spent maybe 10 hours playing Brawl.

I called Nintendo and got the free shipping, etc., to send them the Wii for the fix. But I've heard they're blaming a dusty cd lens for the problem. My question then is: What happens in a year when it's dusty again? Am I out of luck at that point? Or is a 'dusty lens' their cover story for something more problematic that they don't want the public to know for some reason?

There have been recalls about this. I think. I'm sure I remember seeing something on X-Play about multiple problems like this.

I bought MLB '08 The Show to play on the PS2 and played it until my thumbs hurt. Without exception, the best game I've ever played. You really have to work to win in this game.

Then I played it on the PS3 at Toys 'R Us last week and, good God, it's in another solar system. It just is, and I can't justify the expense (or the explanation) for the new console.

I grew annoyed (and then disgusted) with the fielding on the PS2. Fiddled with the AI many, many times. No errors, more spectacular/diving plays that you should see. And the game's official scorer would judge errors as hits. I can't have that.

I still love the game, but I want to play it on a PS3.

Here's my Smash Bros. code: 1332-7709-0585

We SJers should get on at the same time at some point and play each other. I just got on for the first time last night, and it's actually a lot of fun when it works. Several times the framerate was just painfully slow, but most of the time it was pretty good.

Rusty, I need your Wii code as well as the Smash code to play you. But yes, those of us with Brawl should definitely pick a time and day to play a bit.

I went out and bought MLB 2K8 Friday. I used to play the EA series and the MLB series, so everything was a little tough to adjust to at first. But now i love that game.

  7. I've heard so many mixed things about this game. But I'm starting to lean towards buying it.

I enjoy it. I just suck at it.

I have the MLB2K8 for 360 and it's pretty darn cool. It's hard, but it's fun.

The pitching mechanics alone are worth it man. In my opinion.

I don't like the players' range of motion in 2K8. Just looks and feels fake.

If Madden used the same engine that The Show uses, Madden's untouchable.

  12. I'd been a 2k player when it came to baseball, but decided to get The Show this year at the urging of a co-worker. Damn. It's unbelievable. It's almost too good, because a nine-inning game took like an hour, when I could rip through the 2k version in 25 minutes or so...
