The required missions alone reportedly take 100 hours. Finding the 100 pigeons might take that long as well.

The secret always has (and probably always will be) to find 3 or 4 passing plays you can master and know exactly what to do with the ball in those plays against every defense. Usually it should a play that sends the HB into the flat or TE on an out route so you have your quick check off in case of a blitz.

  3. I had an ok couple races.

I'm looking forward to this! Hoops, let me know when you'll be able to play.

Funny you should mention the old football games, oh Collector of Souls. Cleaning out some drawers last week, I found my old Madden 2000 disk for Mac. So, of course, I put it in and have been playing it ever since. Brings out the 10-year-old in me, like insisting that the game is cheating when a 1-10 team suddenly turns unbeatable to my 10-0 team. Every pass I throw is either knocked down or intercepted, and I can't run the ball more than 2 yards. Fuck you, John Madden. You, too, Pat Summerall.

This was weird...fired up Mario Kart yesterday and the first thing that pops up is a screen that says I've won 250 ghost races and unlocked Birdo. Cool, except for the fact that I hadn't even run but a handful of ghost races (I've spent most of my time doing the grand prixs and playing online).
Is this a glitch? Anybody else get this?

  6. I don't know what the deal is with the 250 ghost races, but you can get new characters by doing online stuff, so that may be legit. Every now and then I'll start the game and have won something new, like a character or bike. I don't question it. And you shouldn't either. ;)

Anybody run their Kart tourney race yet? I'm predicting a Gomer homer.

  8. Just a reminder that I f'd up my Kart code before. Only EmbassyRow and Gomer are showing up as my friends. The correct one is: 5284-1801-8037

You can also get stuff by winning the one-player Cup modes.

Looks like Storm and I will play Friday. Hopefully everyone else gets their matches in sometime in the next week.

Just feel like I need a place to report the good news that according to Microsoft, my XBox 360 is fixed and on a UPS truck back to me!

Got the component cables instead of the HDMI (cost was half the price) but it had the same settings. Set the console to 1080p and went to town. I watched the Golden Compass on Blue-Ray and was impressed, then spent a few hours touring Liberty City.
It was AWESOME! The two things, small as they be, that impressed me the most were the flys buzzing around the trashcans and the look of the water when you go swimming in the river. Both were crazy.
Also, there are 200 "flying rats" in Liberty City, and I've taken out three. They are very hard to spot, but if you keep your ears open you can get them.
I'm over 10 hours in already and I have yet to even come close to getting off the first island. This is going to be great.

  12. If anyone is around and wants to do a warmup race, I'll be on for the next 30 minutes or so....
