My right arm is too dang tired from bowling and baseball to start a thread...

Picked up Assassin's Creed for the two weeks I have promised myself as a somewhat comedown before I throw the controller through the TV because the final mission in GTA4 is so freakin' hard.
It's pretty damn fun! Not the best thing ever, but still a fun game that kills time (which is what I need while I get it together enough to try cracking GTA again). Jumping from rooftop to rooftop really is as much fun as it sounds.

Assassin's Creed is great. Where are you at in the game?

Just starting the third assassination. Chose to do Jerusalem first and I just rode the horse to Acre, with the damn Templars on my ass most of the way though.
That's one of the only gripes I have had so far. I didn't kill anyone, but if I ride my horse too fast by a knight, they are on me like white on rice.

OK, having just sold a bunch of stuff on eBay, I now have the necessary money to get a PS3 so I can play GTA. And it's about frickin' time.

QUESTION: Can someone tell me what exactly I need to be able to play the game in HD? I'm assuming some sort of HD cord, but I'd like to know what's worked well for those that have them, how much they are and where they got them.

    Thanks in advance!

    Get a 360 instead.

Eh, I'm a PS guy from way back.

Besides, I know too many people who've had problems with their 360s.

OK, here's the trick, buy the PS3 digital cables (the red, yellow, white and green) it will cost about $30 and I've been told that it's as good as using an HDMI cable (which is around $60) I went with the digital cables and I've been very happy.

Most of those are launch machines or a year after. Machines manufactured after a certain date have a LOT better success rate.

Roy, is your final GTA mission the one where you're trying to catch up to the helicopter with the boat?

If so, the problem I had with it was using the boat's trim while going through the rough seas. It slowed me the boat down too much to catch up to the copter. Just keep the left stick neutral (not pushing it forward or pulling it back) and you'll catch the copter.

I was disappointed in Assassin's Creed. It turned into a grind. Get sent to a new quarter of a city, climb the church/mosque tower. Pickpocket this guy. Listen in on this conversation. Kill this guy, watch this cut scene.
