I agree that NCAA is better. I haven't bought a Madden game at full price in at least five years. Most of the time I get it less than $20.

But you can still get a lot of cheesers on NCAA. Especially those that play with Florida and just use Tebow to run. Or you get the kid that will drop his QB back 30-40 yards then heave a pass to a wide open guy. Or you get the guy that puts a WR or RB at QB and just runs with him.

I don't actually play online much with NCAA, but whenever I do, if the opponent is choosing Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, I usually just back out and look for another game. I mean, if you can't win with those three schools, you might as well hang up your controller.

Welp, training with two teams/players has shit the bed. I can train my three guys without an issue. The other player goes to train his QB and all that shows up is 'X' on the three receivers, no routes. When I did my QB, it worked fine. Weak sauce. Anyone else with this issue on Madden?

EDIT: No QB vision either? ugh

I had read there were some issues with the online franchise with Madden. Don't remember it all now, but it was something like there had to be an enormous amount of teams in the online league and that there was no stat keeping.

    hank,

if someone puts a WR at QB, go in and put a safety or two at OLB spots, then spy them, and jam his WRs at the line every single play, and manually put at least one true safety in a deep zone. That's what I do, and I compensate on pass coverage by putting the biggest and fastest LB at DE and control him, so I can drop back into coverage or play the LOS if he decides run up the middle. That either gets the guy to stop cheesing (with some verbal encouragement/intimidation where I tell him my defense will crush his cheese if he continues) and play right, or quit.

    IGot,

Yea, not a bad plan. Like I said before, I don't play too much online against random people, so it's not usually an issue.

I have read about some of the stuff tho on the Xbox.com forums.

Um, where's the challenge plays option (ps3)?

Just bought NCAA 09 the other day. I like the strength of schedule feature on it. I have been using UW and started the season 3-0 with shutouts of Oregon and Oklahoma and a blowout of BYU. Kind of odd that I have been able to do this well seeing as UW has only one guy over an 86 rating (Locker) and Oklahoma is loaded.

How the hell do you get a good time in the 40 on legend mode, my best is 4.74?

  8. One week until NHL 09 comes out and this year's version looks to be awesome. They have a new online mode where you play on the same team as other gamers and control only one player the entire game. You can essentially create a team of online players and go against other teams. I'm excited about this option and hope it will go smoothly.

Haven't played my NCAA 09 in more than a week, but I had to switch down the difficulty rating to All-American from Heisman while I rebuild SMU. It's still really hard!

Heisman is ridiculous. I played a whole year with a team I had won three straight Pac-10 titles with and was like 3-9.

The only reason I went to the national title game on heisman with Georgia, I lost btw, was becasue I had a guy that was rated 98 in speed. Speed helps BIG TIME on that level. You can run around most defenders. So when you recruit, look for speed guys mostly. They might fumble a little more often, or some other detraction to keep it balanced, but their upside is phenomenal!
