I'm thinking of buying an NBA game for the first time since, oh, 2000. Still have a PS2 and am not making the 360 or PS3 jump for a while yet. Which is better ... NBA Live 09 or the Sony one (can't think of the name right now ...).

I've always been a fan of the 2K series for basketball. Tho, in EA's defense, I haven't played NBA Live in quite some time.

If nothing else, 2K9 looks amazing.

Yeah, I've always gone with the 2K series for college hoops games. Just much better gameplay than EA's March Madness series.

2K sports isn't doing the college game anymore. I think it's all EA, and is called NCAA Basketball '09

Just got into Tiger 09 for the Wii the other day and I must say, unless I get used to using the wiimote and having to awkwardly adjust the lie of the ball in my stance and such; then I'll stick with a normal controller. I don't mind swinging and such since I'm a golfer, but the fine tuning of each swing can get a little tedious some times.

The weird thing is, since I have a PS3, this is the first time I have every wanted an NBA game. This generation's NBA (I think NBA 09) games will link live to the NBA scouting service and will update the game daily with player trends and roster updates. It will change the way we play games, and hopefully this will start a trend that will leak into other games as well.
Think of it, a Madden game that you buy ONCE, then every year, you buy an update for that year's rosters. You pay less, maybe half, then you get the year's stuff. Then during the year, everything updates daily like the NBA game will this season.
    That would be freakin' fantastic.

People who were into the ESPN NFL2K would do something similar: download roster updates. Voila, no need to go buy next year's game which had stupid gimmicks and the same graphics.

Well, I jinxed myself, sorta. Played No. 5 Georgia next and they beat me 7-3. Fell to No. 5, but had a rematch with Georgia in the SEC Title Game, winning 36-32. Played No. 1 Texas for National Championship and YES IT WAS TELEVISED despite my NCAA probation. Hehe.

Any of our Wii-heads played Mega Man 9?
I finally beat it last week (downloaded it the first day it came out), but some of those challenges are just ... well, they're fucking impossible. Anyone who can get through that game without getting hit once, or even dying once, is a fucking god in my eyes.

    FIFA 09 for the PS3 = outstanding.

If anyone wants to play an online match, holler at me.

Question for NCAA 09 players such as yourself Kokane: Where in the playbook is QB sneak? Several times I've had second or third or fourth and inches and have wanted to just run a QB sneak up the middle, but I can't find it in the playbook. In the NCAA 03 I played for years, it was in the goal line package, but it's not in this game and I can't find it.
