Running video games (and consoles) thread

Thinking of picking up a new Xbox 360 arcade system (cheap!) and using my external HDD. HDMI cables are going for less than $10 on eBay/Amazon. Wanted to get the elite, but no need to really. Save about $200 when it comes down to it. Probably get Madden and NCAA along with the new Battlefield game. Hopefully the adjustment from the PS3 isn't too much.

 

Anyone pick up Fable II? Ikm not into the RPG genre at all, but this game is amazing. Like The Ocarina of Time on steroids.

It's almost as addicting as Civilization Revolution.

 

Fable and Gears of War are the only reasons I'd buy an XBOX 360

 

I don't understand why more of you aren't commenting on FIFA 09.

Seriously, people, buy it. You'll thank me later.

 

I do not care for soccer, but the FIFA game is fun to play. And damned hard, too.

 

I'd buy it but I'm currently saving my dough for Guitar Hero World Tour

 

I'm too busy with my "Be A Pro: Seasons" game to comment on it.

 

I reserved it a month ago, paid in full and went to pick up my set yesterday. It felt a tinge like Christmas morning.

The EB Games store only had two and they gave them to other people on the reserve list. The lady running the store's explanation? "Epic fail from Activision." I had a good mind not to tell her "STFU."

Needless to say, it was a quiet day in the house yesterday.

 

You should have demanded your money back and then went to another store. I know the store I currently work at had several of them in stock.

 

I went to other stores. There's a massive shortage here. If I'd found one elsewhere I would have bought it, then went back and demanded my refund.

As it is, I'm just really pissed off.

I'm really enjoying Tiger '08 so far. It's fun because it's a sports game, but it's totally new for me. With Madden I knew the basic skills coming into it, but I don't with this one. I like learning the game with the different Tiger Challenges.
