My brother is begging me to get the new Call of Duty, but the rare times I'm in town and not working are spent on FIFA 09.

I can't believe none of you douchebags own FIFA and will play me online. I'm telling you, The Show is the only comparable sports game.

    Sorry HP.

I've got the new FIFA, and it is incredible. But thanks to a remodel of the den, I don't have my PS3 hooked up to a modem right now.

I am, however, disappointed in one aspect of the game. Doing the "Be A Pro: Seasons," your team doesn't play Champions League or FA Cup matches. Those matches are there in the Manager mode, but not BAP. Damn it.

After being told my GH: World Tour complete band set for the Wii wouldn't be available for another couple months, my EB Games store got a shipment in today and I just finished playing a couple songs, one of which I downloaded. They only have single-song download support so the track list isn't as good as PS3 of Xbox versions, but the fact you can download at all is why I got it instead of Rock Band for the Wii.

Thank goodness. BTW, the drums take a big of getting used to since there's now six things to hit (three snares, two cymbals and the bass pedal).

Glad you finally got it Gomer. We've had complete Wii Guitar Hero WT packages in stock for a while now. The game is very worth it and I'll be picking it up soon.

But for now all I have to say is:

    Little Big Planet.

LBP is, and I have gone on the record as saying this, is the best game of the year.
However, I have spent a lot of time this last month playing Resistance 2. The game is a lot easier than the first game (which I could only beat on easy). R2's casual setting is beatable in maybe under eight hours if you are poking around. I'm now trying to go back through it in normal, and not having too much trouble there either.
The bad part is my multiplayer doesn't work. I can play Resistance all night long in competitive mode, but I can't get onto the R2 servers. I have already put in a complaint to Insomniac but haven't heard anything.
Anyone else having trouble with this?

OK, so why is LBP so good? From reading the reviews, I'm not sure I understand it.

Inky, it's basically a platformer except you can build levels. But it's really, really well done. Think Mario except way better graphics, way more puzzles to get through and a constant stream of new levels you can download thanks to geeks with too much time on their hands.

My roomie has it and I agree...Little Big Planet is easily the best game of 2008.

I went out and bought a few (older) games on Friday: NCAA March Madness 08, Madden 07 and NCAA Football 08.

Last Madden series I bought was 2005, and the last NCAAF game I bought was 06. Not much difference in either.

Got a dynasty going with UNC on March Madness. So far, I'm 6-0 with my closest game being an 81-80 win over Louisville in the Maui invite.

Ebay. We've gotten several systems pretty cheap that way. I mean really cheap. The first 600 or more end within an hour or so, so you can get by with being about the only bidder, or at least a low bid. We got the game cube and a N64 for $1 each. We got the Xbox for $19 and somehow managed to score the Xbox 360 for $29. Actually, the Wii is one of the few systems I don't have. My lazy husband thinks video games should all be played sitting on your ass.
