That was pretty impressive from Federer: Five straight after falling behind 0-40 on serve.

    That took balls.

Federer finally gets to 5. If he can get to a tiebreaker in this set, things could get interesting.

    Crap. Rain delay.

How's bout investing in some retractable roofs?

Retractable roofs are coming next year. Grass doesn't survive well in indoor conditions.

I don't know who this rain delay helps to be honest. Nadal can get work done on his knee, but it could also tighten up. And who knows where Raj is mentally.

I don't see any hope for Roger here at all.

He hasn't played badly overall, but losing the 2nd set after being up a break was inexcusable.

In the French, Nadal was untouchable. Federer could've had Borg as a doubles partner and they'd have lost to Nadal.
Today, it's an even match EXCEPT for Federer's unforced errors. And that, one suspects, is mental. Instead of shrugging off the French as losing to Nadal's day of perfection, Federer is pressing, with the predictable disastrous results.

I certainly wouldn't count Raj out...I mean he hasn't lost there in a good six years.

And Rafa hasn't just been playing with fire, he's been jumping on the lava rocks barefoot.

All it takes it one set for momentum to switch. I remember the Edberg-Becker final in 1990 and Stefan played the first two sets like he was practicing against a junior opponent and I thought he was going clean Boris' clock. Boris then went on a very impressive rally to take it to five where he couldn't hold on.

I give Mary Cirillo a lot of credit. She said, on the Today show, that Rafa's safer style was going to give him a slight advantage with the weather conditions what they are because Raj was going to go after shots and try to hit corners.

I still think that if Federer can win this set, it's game on. And if he can win it in a tiebreaker, with Nadal being so close to victory and then having to go to another set, all the better.

The other thing about the rain delay is that it couldn't have come at a more critical point. Federer trying to stay in the match, but Nadal having to serve to extend the third.

If Nadal isn't warmed up right, Federer could grab a lot of momentum with an immediate break.

Looked like they took the tarp off and are just about ready to go.
