In 2014, does any Wimbledon final move the ratings needle?

btw, she can't get any cuter.

She's hot. And she can play. She's had good results in the past three Slams now and that's what been missing, a player who can show some consistency. The ratings system is tough to understand sometime, but I gotta figure she'll be top ten next week.... maybe top seven or so if she wins the final. That saying, Petra Kvitova is a former Wimbledon champ and not exactly chopped liver.

I'm lazy. Anyone know the time of the women's final?

Schedule on Wimbledon.com says 2 p.m. local time on Saturday, which is, I think, 9 a.m. EDT.

I might be off by an hour, but I think that's right.

Djoker beats Dimitrov in four sets to get to the final, but he had to fight like hell for it.

And Roger wins in straight sets.

Am I the only one paying attention to this today?

Would love to see Federer win another Slam title.

On one hand, I wish more athletes would follow Pete Sampras' lead and retire after their late-career accomplishment, knowing it will never, ever get any better. OTOH, I suppose winning at an advanced age fosters a sort of "gee, I must still be pretty good and I can keep doing this" mindset.

Sampras won his first Slam in 1990 and his last in 2002. 12 years. Federer won his first Slam in 2003, so this would be 11 years later. I can't recall anyone else in the Open era on the men's side who was so good for so long.

Agassi (first Slam title 1992, last 2003, top 7 player in 2005)

Connors (first Slam 1974, US Open semifinals in 1991)

You can't recall another men's tennis player in the last 50 years who was as good as Pete Sampras and Roger Federer?

That is deep, deep insight that we can only get from you.
