In fairness to both, I'm not sure I would have chopped with either hand.

Good stuff, Zagoshe. Used to live down that way, hated those stakes but yes, if you went into them with the right mindset you could have fun. Basically, any poker knowledge whatsoever would get you killed, which made it a fun game for amateurs and brutal for those who thought they were God's gift to the game.

I don't know why any "serious" player would play in the Florida cash games. I played that 2/2 game at the Fort Myers Dogtrack years ago and it was the same way. Guys would stick around to the river looking for two-outers because it was so cheap. I think played for six hours and came out dead even. And that was at a table where the dealer was having to explain to newbies when to put out their blinds and other cardroom basics.

And to gently steer this back to the WSOP ME, Montel Williams is out of it today. So is Joe Hachem.

See I have to disagree, the first thing I do when I sit down is figure out if the guy to my left and right chops. If both say yes, I say OK -- we'll chop always -- and some places even have a rule if you chop once, you must always chop as long as you are sitting next to the same person you chopped with.

That takes all of those decisions out of play and frankly I never look at my two hole cards until it is my action, so if it comes to me and I'm in the small blind and I know the guy in the big blind chops, I'll just look at him or her and say "chop it up" and then muck.

I've found that far too often not chopping costs a lot more money than chopping.

Inky is that -- people calling all the way down looking for miracles -- really any different than many 10-20 or even 20-40 limit games?

I played in a 20-40 limit game at the Borgata that played a lot more like a 2-4 limit game. I then -- after playing for like two hours and winning about $200 (and thanking my lucky stars I wasn't broke) I got up and watched the guys at the 80-160 limit game and saw guys turning over two-outers and four-outers left and right.

I just think limit poker is difficult to beat at most levels because many people feel as though limit is a drawing game and regardless of the odds, the pot or whatever else they will draw for their flushes and straights and two pairs in every hand.

That's why there is a lot of bad beats and the fluctuation is so great.

As for the World Series Main Event, is Rick Tocchet still in?

Well, you're right about that Zag. No matter which table you're on, you'll see guys with more money than sense pulling that stuff. The hazards of limit play, I guess.

Tocchet made it to today. I think his gambling partner Gretzky's wife, Janet Jones, made it to Day 2 as well.

Absolutely true, Zag. I'm down over my career in limit poker and I'm ahead in NL.

There's a small cardroom about 15 minutes north of where I live. I used to go there about once a month, a habit I broke one night playing 3-6 when I got beat holding K-K by someone playing 3-10 offsuit and going runner-runner to fill a gutshot -- despite every raise I threw at him.

That was only the third flop I saw in an hour and I did everything but tell him what my cards were.

Back on topic, I see Hachem is toast. How's Greg Raymer doing?

Montel Williams? Janet Gretzky? Rick Tocchet? Is this poker or People Magazine?

Honestly, I'm not sure I've ever beat a 3-6 limit game. Ever.

I've beaten 2-4, 4-8, 5-10, 6-12, 7.50-15 (the pink chip game at the trop), 10-20 and even 20-40 limit games.

But for some reason I can't win, and usually get smoked, at 3-6 limit. It is really frustrating.

So much so that the last time I was at the Borgota, I decided I would sit at 3-6 and try and win the first pot I entered then get up just so I could say I finished ahead once.

Of course, $250 later I was still trying to win my first pot.......

By the way I see the big stack (currently) at the Main Event is Steve Austin. Is this the same guy of "Stone Cold" WWF fame?
