I agree about Alex Jacob, he will be a very strong player for a long time to come. Now if he would just do something with that hair.....

Earlier poster: You put $100 on one hand's bonus bet of three-card poker? Yikes and congrats at the same time. I don't have it in me to do that at all.

Sorry, but it wasn't a race. Takes two overs to make it a race (usually something between 46-54 and 48-52). Your friend lost when he was about a 72-28 favorite unless the other guy's AJ was suited, then he was 67-33 favorite.

I put $50 a few times when I was hot and actually hit a nice run of a straight flush, a pair, a straight and then a flush. It was a nice run. Of course I hung around and lost it all so it wasn't much of a fun story to tell but it was a great ride.

Meanwhile, Gus Hansen is up over 400k in chips at last update. He's second in chips on day 2B.

And I don't think anyone picked ol Gus to do anything in the WSOP Fantasy thread. wow. Good for him. He's won four WPT events but has never won a bracelet. I'll be rooting for him throughout now.

That would be great if Gus could even just make the final table. I think Matusow's presence a few years ago at the Final Table really added to the drama and excitement and Gus would even be more fun to watch.

I don't know that he can stay in line long enough, however, to reach the final table. I think his style works when he hits some cards but it is tough to hit cards for a marathon like the WSOP main event which means at times you must tighten up and protect and I don't know that Gus is capable of being that patient.

Matusow and then Cunningham making final tables was indeed a boost for the pros. There'll be another big name at the final table again this year. Whether it's Negraneau, Hanson, Mortensen or someone else known in those circles we'll see.

Hanson and Negreanu would be a great tandem at the final table and not just because I respect the hell out of Daniel Negreanu. The two of them battling would be great poker and great TV.

Would've been great no doubt, but Kid Poker busted out last night

It seems to me, having watched him play recently on Poker After Dark, and online at Full Tilt, that he's changed his style, and isn't playing quite as loosely as he has in the past. He's still playing some hands that you scratch your head about, but I think people's perceptions of how he plays has led to him getting called down a lot. He's adapted to that.
