Have a party planned for next Tuesday; final table, live. I love this shit.

By my estimations, the blind levels -- worst case scenario -- will be at 150K-300K to start the final table, with the average stack at 14.1 million -- or 47.1 big blinds. We're going to have some poker played, my friends. If they play fewer than 12 levels over the next two days (outside chance), the blinds will be even lower. It won't be an all-in fest like the $1,500 buy-in fields or your weekly WPT event.

And if Scotty Nguyen is at the final table that alone will be worth my $19.95.

I agree with that my friend. However, does anyone have anyone alive in the fantasy WSOP thread? :D

    Great point.

I remember that table well. Also remember Hellmuth grandstanding about having his head shaved if Gardner won, since he (Gardner) would break Hellmuth's record for being the youngest ME winner.

I had just started following poker shortly before that and wondered who the hell that guy was. I started reading about him that day and found out.

I am 95% sure Hellmuth bet to shave his head if Varkonyi won. And Varkonyi won, so at the end of the bracelet ceremony Hellmuth got in the chair and had his head buzzed.

I'd expect the pros to really start coming to the front today. This is when the pressure starts building, and the pros have a lot of chips to play with.

I'm thinking Chad Brown will make a big move today. You've gotta think among Scotty Nguyen, Lee Watkinson, Kirk Morrison, Huck Seed, Humberto Brenes and Julian Gardner that 2 or 3 of them will make the final table at this point.

You are correct that it was Varkonyi that Hellmuth bet against. You can still watch him getting his head done at the end of the tournament when ESPN reshows the final table on Classic.

If we can get three really top-end pros at the final table it would be tremendous. Proof that weeding out the draw really was addition by subtraction.

    Chad Brown is done.

Gus Hansen was just crippled and is down to $400,000.

    What he said.

    You're both correct. My bad.
