Maybe we should give Tiger a chance to play with Curtis, Boo, Stricker, Mahan, Holmes, and Kim - all rookies - before throwing him off the squad. It seems like Boo, Mahan, Holmes and Kim in particular have the makeup to not be intimdated playing with Tiger, whose greatest Ryder Cup sin is, apparently, that he's too good and frightens his teammates like he does when they're competitors on the Tour.

Is there anyway Simmons doesn't use the words Ewing Theory and Tiger in the same sentence in a column this week?

It's not Tiger's fault that he intimidates other players. At the same time, though, this team appeared more relaxed. I'm not sure they'd be that calm with Eldrick around.

Again, that's not his fault, but it's easier to replace one golfer than 11.

No, Tiger's greatest Ryder Cup sin is that he doesn't particularly care for the event. Tiger thinks of himself as bigger than everything and everyone -- and he is. His presence makes or breaks a PGA Tour event, so his every need and desire is catered to.

But at the Ryder Cup, he can't dictate the terms. He has to be in certain places at certain times. Even at the Presidents Cup, Tiger pretty much runs the show.

I think you guys may be overreading this particular green. Europe's big stars (Garcia and Harrington) didn't play their best. When that happens you lose big, just as the U.S. did in 2004 when Woods and Phil sucked.
It's ludricrous to think Woods' absence had anything to with the win. The U.S. played fabulously, and putted like Satan was their Dave Pelz. Woods couldn't have prevented them winning, and 1000 times more likely would have helped.

The Presidents Cup is a contrived piece of shit because the non-Euro players wanted to be part of the party.

It's my personal opinion only, but the Ryder Cup is the second biggest event in golf to the U.S. Open, and I don't even know when they play the Presidents Cup. I'm sure to some people it's a big deal, but it doesn't belong in the same debate as the Ryder Cup.

Here we go with the "ugly Americans" crapola. Lee Westwood is on the Golf Channel saying he was treated horribly all week. Whatever.

Dude was 0-2-2, he deserved to get booed. Hell, Westwood, Jimenez, Harrington and Garcia were the MVPs for the US. Nice job chokers.

Lee Westwood, the new Colin Montgomerie. One of the NBC guys on the Golf Channel just said his comments about being abused were totally out of line, that he never heard or saw any of that. Grow a pair, Lee. And then retreat to the comfort of the European Tour and your multimillions.

Corky just needs a cup of STFU. If he's still here, we'll add in a Bourbon chaser.

Gosh, judging from the crowd reactions to good shots, I'd say Europe had LESS of a home court advantage to fight than is the Ryder Cup norm.

"Shameful" abuse by the American fans. Yeah, whatever.

I'd ask how you know exactly what happened over the week, and why you're dismissing this?
