The funny thing about watching the Ryder Cup, when things go bad you hear people ripping the captains, or announcers saying the caddy needs to step in an calm a player down or be the voice of reason when it comes to club selection. Why do people go out of their way to not rip the golfers? You know, the people actually PLAYING?

There is no bigger good-ol'-boy, you-scratch-my-back-and-I'll-scratch-yours network than these golf announcers.

Perhaps I missed it, but every time I saw somebody like Weekley or Kim raising their hands to the crowd they were walking to the next hole. Something wrong with that? Or did I miss them making "snow angels" in the fairway ala Sergio "Bongo" Garcia one year after the Europeans had clinched? I'm no Davis Love fan but I believe he's the one you should ask about that. If they indeed held up play, that's another matter. But I don't remember seeing it.

  4. Sergio was classy in the postgame, but for all the shit he's pulled at this event over the years, he got exactly what he deserved. Watching him rinse his ball twice was the highlight of the tournament.

I guess it's OK for the Euros to hoot and holler like they're at a Man U football match when they're kicking our asses over there, but they can't take similar treatment over here.

No, nothing wrong with it. Let the Africans play against the Pacific players.

Correct. Gyrate to the crowd all you want when the hole is over, not when your opponent is getting ready to play a shot.

Showing a bit of sportsmanship is never a bad thing.

Hunter Mahan actually did that once and realized it and quickly tried to quiet down the crowd.

It's good to see the players get emotional. The PGA doesn't suffer from a lack of emotionless drones.

And how many times did the US team win?

He might have made this team better. Maybe. But they certainly didn't seem to miss him once they competition started, as evidenced by a 5-point win and I'm certain some of the veteran players on that team will take great satisfaction in the fact they won the thing so convincingly without Woods.

There are a half-dozen guys the team DEFINITELY benefited from not having on the team, and YOU pick the guy averaging 2.2 points per Cup?

There has to be... and yet, you know two years from now, he's going to play. And everyone is going to defer to him (even if he doesn't want them to) and they lose again.

    Defer to him? WHAT?

He ain't on the golf course but with, MAX, one other teammate at any point in time.

Glad to see the U.S. win the Ryder Cup yesterday -- even though I picked another Euro victory when the teams were announced -- but even better is the knowledge that one Ryder Cup team member is giving $45,000 of his RC paycheck to my employer!
