They're made a lot of them. They've got to get used at some point.

So if the Americans win, does Tiger offer to sit out 2010?

Lee Westwood is getting pissed at Boo Weekley's antics. And he's responding with birdies.

My biggest gripe about the Ryder Cup isn't the jingoism or the overwrought announcing (what a courageous shot!), but the wives acting like they're part of the team.

I'm getting the feeling that Lee Westwood has just a little bit of Monty's overbearing bluster in him.

He's never struck me that way, very easy-going out on the course. Unless, of course, you annoy him.

Right now I think he wants to pummel Weekley badly.

This is getting fun. Weekly acting totally awesome and inappropriate after bombing in a birdie, then Mickelson rolls one in 30 seconds later. Both matches go US 1-up.

Suck it, Euros. My Ugly American has come out.

About time Mickelson contributed something. Anthony Kim -- who will be the US Ryder Cup Hero -- has been carrying Philly Mick for 35 holes.

Earlier this afternoon, it seemed every time I looked up, an American was hitting out of shit. Nice to see they've come back.

Not really, Bscribe. They've been picking one another up, actually. Kim wasn't playing great in foursomes for a stretch, and Phil was helping them hang in there. Pretty darn good pairing to get 1.5 points after being 3-down in both matches.

I must have seen Bad Phil then, DD.

I watched this during my lunch and couldn't believe how bad Phil was playing: flubbed chips, blown flop shots, poorly struck putts, the whole enchilada.

Yes, there's nothing wrong with 1.5 points, especially in these formats for the Americans.

Dave Shedloski of PGATOUR.com's note on Boo

GAME ON (4:10 p.m. ET): There appears to be a bit of teeth grinding in the final Four-Ball match. Boo Weekley isn't one for attempting any kind of gamesmanship -- he probably doesn't know what that is -- but Europe's Lee Westwood hasn't been able to hide a bit of pique at Weekley's penchant for waving to the crowd to incite more cheering while Europe is preparing to play a shot. It's happened twice in seven holes and Westwood was staring a hole through Weekley on the fairway at the par-5 seventh hole after the American hit his second shot on the green to set up a 25-foot eagle putt.

It's funny; I commented a few minutes ago that Kim finally gave Lefty some support. We must have been watching different events. ;)
