Love to hear a little more about that. Biology helped correct an error in his medical records? Was he a frog?

I'm fine with the way the walkout protest went down. It sounds like administrators and police exercised discretion to let the kids vent, did not let their egos get in the way, let it play itself out and things got back to as close to normal as possible.

I wonder if there are other times this week that approach could have worked?

No, because letting kids do whatever the hell they want during class leads to chaos because the ones who want to screw around will simply do it more if you let it go. That is the point that keeps sailing over your head. And TSP's. And quite a few other posters.

A one time event in response to a dramatic situation that has gained national attention is not the same thing as kids refusing to follow the rules of the classroom by pulling out their cell phones and refusing to put them away when told to do so.

    Great, great article.

President Obama must use the resources of the federal government to create and implement effective policies that will empower and protect black girls. Specifically, lawmakers should start a national campaign to review and revise school practices that funnel students into the justice system, equalize federally funded initiatives so that they support at-risk girls and boys, and cultivate programs that identify early signs of sexual abuse so that young victims are supported rather than incarcerated.

President Obama will you overturn this Draconian law that prohibits cell phone use in the classroom.

You got me. Don't know why that says biology. Should say anatomy or physiology. IIRC, it was something related to the outcome of a blood test.

I suspect TSP is one of those people who went through 2-3 years of middle school behind the old plywood L in the corner of the room.

Sharp. I'd tweet that and then count the followers.

You seem like a plywood L type, too. Although it might have been more of a C than an L.
