Still, Saban is a control-freak douchebag.

And I would hope the other reporters in the room each start asking depth chart questions, to back up their fellow journalist.

Because it could be them the next day that Saban doesn't like a question.

Saban HATES depth chart questions. It's like Animal Farm -- Everyone's equal, some are more equal than others.
Ian Rapoport used to dig on him about that all the time.
Saban: "There is no depth chart. Don't ask about the depth chart. I will not answer any questions about a depth chart."
Ian: "Nick, tell us about the depth chart."

Once, after Saban chided Ian for using the term first team, Ian offered in his blog something like "primary practice collective" or something like that.

Yeah this is when the beat reporters need to band together and stick it to Saban.

You'd think -- considering they have to put up with Saban every day -- that the Bama beat guys are pretty close.

    That's actually my brother-in-law.

BYH probably drives a tricked-out El Camino.

Such levels of toughness should put Mr. Upshaw squarely on the first-team of the depth chart.

  12. Easier said than done.

    So football has officially started.
