Sac St. student rag sports writer suspended for quote fabrication

    The writer should have been fired for fabricating the quotes. Shame on that editor for not going far enough.

    Wow.....


    I was just at Sac State on Saturday, to cover the 54th annual Causeway Classic(Hornets vs. UC Davis Aggies). I write for the Woodland Daily Democrat by the way. Anyhow, I was talking with a couple Hornet college writers, and this never came up....I wish I would have known!

    College editor's usually won't fire some kid. Especially if they are volunteers. If you can keep your job as editor-in-chief of a major college paper when you print the f-word in an editorial, suspending someone for fabricating quotes doesn't seem that harsh.

    Not that either is good, but fabricating quotes is 1,000X worse than using an expletive in a column...
