Hell, Kevin Johnson said a couple weeks ago that the team was all but gone.

I like how the TV guy said the money is there. Really? All of a sudden the money is there? Unless it's a couple of big businesses willing to hand the Maloofs suitcases full of cash, it's not happening.

The key to any teams being satisfied is luxury suite revenue. Thirty suites in Power Balance Pavilion just isn't enough in the modern NBA.

  3. Just one. Three different ownership groups (Smither, Charlie Finley and Mike Storen) and three names (Pros, Tams and Sounds), but the same franchise.

It isn't. Crosby going to the Penguins was the result of a special lottery conducted because there was no NHL season the year before he came out.

I'm a firm believer that Stern planted Gary Bettman so he could use his arrogance and incompetence to bury his competition. :p

I hope the TV guy is right. I hate when franchises move.

Yes, in that one year. All other years there is a weighted lottery in which teams can only move up 3 spots.

So the City of Sacramento will somehow be involved but Kevin Johnson already thinks they're leaving? Sounds like a solid plan.

I hate relocation, especially when the new city doesn't seem to care, but the team will probably bring in a little more revenue in Anaheim despite having a fan base that won't care.

Well, Johnson made the comments three weeks ago. Sometimes it takes that level of desperation to get something like this done.

Hell, Johnson said on his blog on the city's website earlier this week that these are the "final days" for the Kings in Sacto. Don't have a link, but I remember reshuffling a page to get the story in.

Stories like the one from Fox-40 come up oh, every time a team threatens to move. Ain't holding my breath on that one.

As a TV guy, I know Crandell a little bit. He's good. The heart of a print guy but has made a solid career in TV sports.

He's no blowhard. I'll trust him unless I see otherwise.
