    The Hawks?

    Tri-Cities
    Milwaukee
    St. Louis
    Atlanta

If you count all three Tri-Cities, that's six, too.

There are those who count the NFL's Colts as a continuation of the old Akron Pro's which would give them a lineage of
    Akron
    Brooklyn
    Boston
    New York
    Dallas
    Hershey, PA (for one game)
    Baltimore
    Indianapolis

The MSA holds 1.67 million people as of the 2010 census. They'll lose some people in the coming years with cutbacks and the Navy moving ships to San Diego and Mayport, but it's not going to stop being the world's largest naval base any time soon, and none of the other military installations are going anywhere either (Oceana NAS was in trouble at one point, but they appear safe now). There'll still be plenty of people in the area. Whether there's the corporate support is and has been the question since the Hampton Roads Rhino NHL push in the 90s.

Don't forget to add Buffalo to the top of the list.

Actually, it would be Dayton, as the Triangles, not Akron.

And the Texans never did play n Hershey. They just practiced* there and had their business operations.

    * There's a story out there that once, an opposing team sent a scout out to watch the Texans practice in Hershey. When the scout came back, the coaches asked him what he learned. The scout replied "Nothing. They were playing volleyball over the goalposts."

It's amazing how quickly the Kings went from being one of the best places in the NBA to see a game to the debacle that this has become.

If there was any justice, the Maloofs would be forced to sell the team.

As a TV market, Virginia Beach is about half the size of Sacramento.

Seems to me the city leaders of Virginia Beach should realize one thing going in: the only reason the Maloofs have to make this move is to fleece Virginia Beach.

Right. They just had to find a city willing to give them or loan them the money they need to pay off their debts, that have nothing to do with the Kings.

They already fucked Sacramento by reneging on the deal they agreed to with the city.

Not that it would ever happen, because I can't see the Maloofs as people who would want to spend any time in a Midwestern place like Kansas City, but the Kings belong in KC. And the arena (Sprint Center) is there. Finding a local owner or group who wants to bring in an NBA or NHL team is the major reason it won't happen anytime soon.

However, one of the games the Texans played after they were turned back to the league was on Thanksgiving Day against the Bears ... in Akron.

Can hardly wait for the cameras to pan the front row so we can see what Blessid Union of Souls is up to these days.

Any chance Richmond folks hop on the bandwagon, or are they too attached to all things D.C.?
