ESPN studiously and strangely ignoring the whole story.

    Slurpy slurpy slurp.

The name Ron Burkle was thrown around in 2011 as a potential buyer who would keep the team in Sacramento, in the event of a Maloof sale. Sounds like this Hansen guy is the highest bidder, and the Maloofs think the highest bidder is more important than keeping the team in Sac. Very sad.

I don't remember -- how many games did they actually play in Omaha?

By my count, if the Kings go to Seattle, the franchise will have made made four moves (if you lump KC and KC-Omaha together) -- Rochester to Cincinnati, Cincinnati to KC, KC to Sacramento, and Sacramento to Seattle. That breaks a tie with the Atlanta Hawks, which went from Tri-Cities (now Quad Cities) to Milwaukee, Milwaukee to St. Louis, and St. Louis to Atlanta.

The Kings would also continue have always moved west. If they go to Seattle, their next stop is going to be Vancouver, then Anchorage.

The Maloofs are hanging on financially with EBT cards and a jug of Tide. Even if they wanted to do a hometown discount, they can't.

That's for if Snoop Dogg, er, Lion, bought the team.

What will be totally stupid, but not surprising is when some team re-locates to Sacramento in about 5-7 years (or maybe less...).

It's why I hate the NBA. Moving a franchise should be the absolute last resort.

Just as parts of Nevada are west of L.A., Sacramento is a tiny bit west of Seattle, so the Kings are going "back East."

Hmm. Google Maps make it look like Seattle is just further west.
