Could never find an exact number online, but did see something about them playing a few game in St. Louis in the early 80s. Didn't remember that.

When did the Celtics stop playing in Hartford. That's the last team I can remember playing in a satellite city (the Clippers in Anaheim seems like the same market to me, and the Hornets in Baton Rouge was always a stopgap.) Wouldn't mind seeing that concept return.

I would like for people to stop reporting this as fact. So many people I know are saying there is a deal in place.

Google Maps also makes it look like Greenland (836,000 square miles) is four times as big as Brazil (3,288,000 square miles).

    Those waskly Mercator maps.

I have the Kings media guides from the 80s and 90s right here. Yes. A loser.

    In Omaha... The kings played:
    72-73 15 games
    73-74 14
    74-75 11
    75-76 6
    76-77 6
    77-78 6
    78-79 0
79-80 4 in St Louis because of Kemper Arena collapse
    82-83 3 in St Louis
    85-86 41 in Sacramento

    Back to bed

some still do in the preseason. The Magic have played in Jacksonville, the Pistons have playing in Grand Rapids.

obscure satellite city/pro hoop trivia: the Indiana Pacers are so called (and not called the Indianapolis Pacers) because the initial plan was to play several games a year in Ft. Wayne, Muncie and Terre Haute

I'm guessing both were in airplanes at various time. Sort of the nature of pro sports.

I'm guessing it has something to do with season tickets, arena upgrades and the like. Was looking at an old boxscore and chuckled to see an attendance of 5,600 at a regular-season NBA game in the mid 1980s.

I liked the concept and still like the fact they play a lot of exhibition games at neutral sites. If it weren't for that, a large number of people would never have a chance to see any game in person.
