Around the time that you can determine that gunshot wounds are a "disease," I'll worry about the CDC's political posturing.

 

Problem is, gun laws are the laws that are mostly ignored by prosecutors. It's always the first charge they throw out in a plea bargain.

I don't know about "always" but whatever percentage gun charges are dropped is too high. That said, I know our local DA always dings repeat offenders for extra time if they are in possession of a firearm as felons.
