I don't know how much he's raised (or spent) for his campaign, but he's doing a masterful job of getting nearly unlimited free publicity. And, so far, no matter how outlandish his statements are, it hasn't hurt him.

It's interesting because we hear a lot about how a nomination of Hillary would motivate the GOP base to get out and vote against her. Trump might be the one candidate that could have a similar effect for Democratic voters. He's that toxic.

And you're right about him drowning out other Republican voices, which is not only a shame, but I think it's indicative of what a Trump presidency would be like. I'm not sure he'd work well with even a Republican-held Congress. If he were to get elected, he might not even win the Republican nomination in 2020.

I actually used to enjoy Trump's bombast, as it related to real estate, casinos and business. But, man, since he's entered the political arena, it's getting harder and harder to believe he's doing anything more than laughing at all of us for taking him seriously as a candidate.

Ok. You came up with one good reason to listen to Trump's plan.

There are no Muslim majority countries in the Visa Waiver Program. Seems it would be pretty easy to just stop issuing Visas to people from certain countries if you really wanted to.

If you aren't a citizen, then you do not enjoy any of the rights granted to citizens. Pretty simple. If Trump wanted a "no more black immigrants" policy implemented, for example, the Constitution could not stop him.

    Oh, exactly.

My point was that countries like Saudi, Pakistan, etc., are 99% Muslim, so you could stop Muslim visitors pretty simply.

Trump is the candidate that will get out the Democratic vote, and cause people who would otherwise never vote for Hilary to hold their noses and pull the lever.

One side effect of Trump that is spreading is that Republicans downballot are seeing what he's getting away with, and starting to co-opt it. We're getting things like state legislators putting up on their Facebook feed that people in their district should take their business to white owned, right thinking Christian owned stores. Don't spend your money with the brown heathens.

They are playing to the citizenry's basest instincts, in full demagogue mode.

Please show your work on this. That's a pretty big accusation. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but let's at least get a screenshot or a link to these Republicans who are openly saying their constituents should show in white-owned stores.

Stoking the fires of xenophobia and racism among his constituents, state Representative Alan Harper (R) published a post on his social media warning his followers to shop only at stores owned by “God-fearing Christians” lest they fund terrorism. In advising his followers to “shop and purchase gas and other items at American owned stores,” Harper argued.
