THat made me laugh. I can't really talk, seeing as I'm flying solo this cold as fuck evening. But I laughed anyway.

I must say, I had a really strange experience while going through the checkout aisle of the grocery store with my Saturday stash. I looked up from going through my wallet and the girl at the register was a senior on one of the high school teams I cover. I got into my car and said, "I am so old, and I can't do this beat any longer!"

One of my friends reminded me: She is at the grocery store on a Saturday night. You are drinking. Don't think she wouldn't want to be in your shoes.

I have a part-time job at a restaurant. I'm worried that some kid or, worse, a parent demanding coverage, will show up in front of my register.

My publisher was there when I was getting ready to start my shift, but was gone by the time I got my register drawer. Thank God; I'm pretty sure everyone at work knows where I have my second job, and I've never kept it a secret, but it would have been srsly awkward all the same.

Cosmo has stirred up a memory.

About five years ago, I few guys from work invited me into their fantasy football league. I spent the night prior to our live draft out with a buddy. For some reason, they decided to start their draft early in the day. So I get to the house at about 8 a.m. While we're waiting for everyone to show, a guy decides it'd be a good idea to run out and get some beer.

I figure, hey, I have a headache. Maybe a drink will chase it away.

So I grab what appears to be a good beer. It's mixed in with all of the usual suspects, but this one is different. It's a strawberry beer. For some reason, I thought that would make a nice morning beer. So I grabbed it.

About an hour later, during a break in the draft, I walked outside, where a few guys were smoking and chatting on their cell phones. I darted past them and into the far reaches of the yard. My tummy didn't like me very much. I'm not sure what everyone thought of this episode. I took third place, for what it's worth. But I'll never try strawberry beer again.

    The Hop-ocolypse was, eh, ordinary.

This Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale is really good, especially in celebration of VT's big win at the OB. Suck it Lamar Thomas.

You can't trust beers from Frederick, Md. You just can't.

You're right. I'm missing the hell out of my ol' West Coast brews. If anyone wants to send a sixer of Moose Drool this way, it would be appreciated.

I can get you some Moose Drool next week, maybe. What's in it for me?

I'll attempt to bring you some when I'm in the D.C./Baltimore area in December. You'll have to drive up and get it though.

I'll be in the DC area for most of the last part of December, at least ... I'm not sure when I'm getting up there, but i know I'm there through at least the 30th b/c of a women's hoops tourney.

And IJAG, where are you procuring Moose Drool from?

That's a cool idea. But there aren't any stores around here where I can buy singles. :(
