Ah...no more countdown. Already chimed in on the other threads.

Great movie. Mrs. OOP was entertained, but a little disappointed. Too much hype. But a lot of the psychological stuff is more my speed than hers, anyway.

Ledger is amazing as the Joker. That is exactly what hte character should be. I now, more than before, find it extremely depressing that he is gone. I probably would have given anything he was in a chance from here on based on this performance.

    Well, there goes the neighborhood.

TDK smashes Spiderman's opening weekend haul, takes in $155,340,000.

Anyone think this puppy is slowing down any time soon? I doubt it.

Oh, and for those interested, it beat second-place Mamma Mia by about $128 Million.

Too long for you? That was really my only major complaint.

No. I mean, I thought it was fine...and it's really just personal preference.

So of that $27 million difference, how much of it was couples going to see TDK, finding out it was sold out, and saying, "Aw, fuck it. What else is playing? Mamma Mia? OK..."

That's my complaint. Everyone was talking so much about how this was the greatest movie ever and it didn't even match up IMO. Too much gore (and what others define as gore I've figured out don't match up to mine. The pencil was too much. I have a very active imagination so even though I covered my eyes, I can only imagine what it looks like.) Not really my cup of tea. As far as "superhero" movies go (and I had a long, in-depth discussion of what makes a superhero with someone who is actually a fan of superhero movies...and I convinced him that this movie counts as it), my favorite is still V for Vendetta. As far as crime movies go, The Godfather kicks this one's ass. As far as my favorite movie from this summer, I liked Wall-E better.

I'm strange. I know it. Ledger does deserve to be recognized, because if I don't have nightmares about him, it'll be a miracle. Probably the most ghastly thing I saw was the fact that the guys who were sitting next to me brought their younger brother to see it and this kid was only six or seven at the most.

I thought it was just okay. Won't ever be seeing it again but it was good for what it was but it wasn't everything that a lot of people think it is.

I really didn't see much gore. Even the magic trick is so quick that you don't really see what happens.

You cannot possibly grasp how that's hitting me right now.

Probably the biggest compliment I can give this film is that it completely transcended the comic book genre and became a legitimately terrific film on its own merits, a thriller that wasn't carried by its superhero taking on bad guys.

Went to see it today. Lots of good action and Ledger was brilliant but I am convinced that I was not born with the gene to ever fully comprehend Batman movies. To full get this movie I would have to watch it 10 times.
