I tried to buy tickets for tonight and couldn't. Finally was able to reserve myself a spot for tomorrow night, I'm pumped.

  2. Well, I hope it is funny. It was supposed to be.

Just got back. Ledger was definitely the best thing about it. He just absolutely owns the screen every second he's on it.

I have a major plot question, but it's probably better for the other thread.

Just got back here, too. :D

Initial thought: No one under 12 should see this movie. (We saw kids as young as 5 today. Holy fuck.) It's comparable on the violence, psychologically, to Reservoir Dogs -- and it was about as well done, cinematically. The "magic trick" ... damn, even the thought of it makes me cringe.

But holy, holy fuck. What an incredible movie. No letdown, whatsoever.

More on the other thread ...

I've figured out from talking to various people that my idea of gore and everyone else's idea of gore is completely different things. For me, it isn't just bodies hitting the floor and blood flying everywhere. It's intense violence where you KNOW there are people getting hurt, even though they don't show everything. My mind still sees it all. And my mind doesn't really like it. The only reason I stomached this movie was because I wanted to see it so I could see what all the fuss was about.

    WFFW.

  7. IJAG is being weird lately. The sidesaddle, the Mae West quotes, her own posts...
Somebody check on her. Is she wearing a Joker's posse clown mask?

Why, because I agreed with Boom?

I didn't get it. I think partly it's because I've never read a comic book, nor have I seen a Batman movie. I enjoyed the movie on its surface, but I didn't "get" it.

  9. No, it's the combination I mentioned before.
The sidesaddle, the quote, and what you are writing.
You just seem to be in a weird place right now. Is everything OK, or am I just crazy?

    I'm fine. Promise.

But I'm touched you notice me. :D

The avatar came off a site Dickens posted. The quote was a chapter starter in the book I'm reading now. And I don't get comic books. All pretty easily explained...

  11. That's it. I'm calling 911. They will either foil your evil plot or halt your suicide attempt.
