Saw The Dark Knight last night...

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by TigerVols, Jun 27, 2008.

  1. Well, I disagree. They may never top TDK, but BB was pretty darn good. If they could just reach that level again, I'd be happy.
But the way this one is raking in the money, it won't matter what is "right." They will go back to that well and see if they can make another billion dollars (domestic, foreign, toys, etc.).

What's Batman II? Was Michael Keaton or George Clooney in that?

It would seem so, but consider the fact that she is 10 times hotter than Nicole Kidman (along with Gyllenhaal, Holmes, Berry, insert any other Batman women here), and it doesn't matter. Think about the role she played in that James Bond movie. Awesome.

    That's two questions.
And actually it would be like Batman 6 or 7, depending on where you want to start.
I'm not even sure if TDK is the best movie I've seen this year but in terms of action and adventure it is, but overall, when the shiny newness rubs off, people will come to their senses and point out the flaws.

She would top my list there, too, but I wouldn't say she is that much hotter than Berry or Holmes.

And the performance in GoldenEye that you mentioned was 13 years go. I'm guessing if they go for somebody in that age range, they'd go for a bigger name.

  6. I thought of the age thing as well, and it extends to Jolie.
I'll bet they go with an up-and-comer (easy joke for somebody there) as Holmes, Ledger, Gyllenhall and even Bale were.

That Famke's name comes up with every comic role (Wonder Woman as well) tells me Hollywood's younger set is missing something.

She woulda been great as Catwoman. . . 10 years ago. Jolie's in her early 30s, so she could still pull it off, but I'd rather see somebody's who's not as famous. Jolie would probably be a distraction from the flick because she's so very well-known (and I am a massive Angie fangirl).

That's why I would like someone like Janssen or Posey: because they're not bigger names. You get Kidman, Jolie, or Berry playing Catwoman, and it's exactly that. It's Kidman/Berry/Jolie in a cat costume.

You get a Janssen or a Posey, and it's Catwoman, and you're saying to yourself afterward, "Catwoman was awesome," instead of "Jolie was awesome."

    They're both too old though.

Devon Aoki (Sin City) would be interesting. I don't think they've done an Asian Catwoman yet, and she can do the action portions of it. Not sure about the acting though.

Is there no appreciation for the cougar?

I don't want some bubble gum-chewing pixie playing Catwoman. An experienced, jaded, sarcastic vixen is needed for Catwoman. Janssen or Posey would deliver.

To be Catwoman, I think you would have to be able to act first ...

I've just never seen her in anything else. She was pretty good in Sin City, but she had like three lines.
