Dooley has one up on most of us: He's heard HC sing.

 

F_T, I've heard her sing, too. And meld your musical tastes with her pipes and you probably have something.

 

I have great respect for Sam Mills, who was apparently also a businessman in Upper Canada according to Wikipedia.

It seems to me that, much like there's a Jim Beam and a Captain Morgan, there ought to be an alcoholic beverage named Sam Mills out there somewhere - though I suppose Sam Adams wouldn't be so happy about it. I mean, that would just be leaching on a fantastic beer's brand, right? Even though it's not the same last name?

Sam Mills, this one's for you.

 

Gomer is named for my favorite Marine from Mayberry (tho he apparently doesn't know that Mr. Mills is a teetotaler)

 

I like how Dools teaches me more about the world around me, much like NBC's The More You Know. My wife loves that her theme song has been integrated into his sig line, my dog loves it when I say 'go dools on the lawn' and I'm pretty sure my buddy would make a bad joke about how he's a 'senior member.'

 

Dooley's knowledge of Mayberry astounds me on a regular basis. I bet he knows Aunt Bee's bra size. And since Gomer jumped ahead of me, I just bet he's a swell person too.
