Wh, if I don't respect the author, why would I read his book?

Because you are interested in the book.

Im interested in all manner of things, and don't have time to dedicate to all of them.

I don't respect him, nor his work. Will be easy to dedicate my time to other interests.

You're in jail for 6 months, told you can have that cut in half if you read books by 1 of 2 authors: Glenn Stout or Caleb Hannan? Who do you choose?

    Lol. Probably Stout.

It got bumped for a Prince retrospective, but here is the on-screen summary of what was supposed to be on 20/20 tonight:

"What the Dash Cam Never Saw"

"A former Oklahoma City police officer who was sentenced to 263 years in prison for the rape and sexual assault of 13 women is interviewed by Juju Chang during a report that examines his family's efforts to prove he is innocent."

I foresee some apologies coming out of that, if it airs.

I'm somehow in the Best American Sports Writing Facebook group. Mr. Stout had an interesting post there a few days ago.

"As I re-enter the freelance world ... " -- he makes it sound like it was his choice.

I hope he doesn't need a cast from breaking his arm patting himself on the back. Christ.

I'm on the same page, somehow--thought I'd unliked after getting tired of his egotistical ways on Twitter--so I saw his update as well. Best part was Stout declaring that liking his post was nice but sharing his post was nicer. What a guy.

Didn't mention how many of his stories ended careers, did he?

Wow, my journalism career must be far in the rear view mirror; you guys are bagging on him for drumming up freelance consulting work?

His alleged back-patting is pretty tame compared to what I see on an ongoing basis from people who make hefty 6-figure sums providing their expertise in the digital marketing world.

We wouldn't be bagging on him if he was able to mention he was searching for freelance work like the rest of us do. But he did it with a parade.
