Schaap and the Sports Reporters

Yep . . . and it worked, because none of 'em were preening assholes.

 

DS and Sports Reporters was my Sunday morning must-see before church as a kid, but Sportswriters on TV was my religion during the week. That was the way sportsjournalists talked about sports. No frills, no b.s., just straight sports.

 

Favorite SWonTV moments:
1) The night Telander did the whole show in a gas mask to protest the cigar smoke.
2) The night they were talking about drug-testing and Bill Jauss called Telander a fascist.

 

Bill Jauss is a wonderful man.

 

And can drink more beer than 12 of us combined.

 

Well, I've just found the new challenge I've been longing for.

 

Have at it...

 

My favorite moment was Jauss's suspenders violently snapping away from the back of his trousers, flying over the top of his head, and landing in the coffee.

If i have that wrong, please don't correct me, I want to remember it exactly that way.

 

FB: Especially at the Cubby Bear.

 

Whoever owns the rights to that show (FSN?) needs to put it out on DVD. I'd buy it.

 

I hesitate to ask: is Gleason still with us?
