  2. do you even read? or is comprehension your problem?

  3. this stuff is amazing. you know better than i do what i've been doing my whole life. just incredible. and you gleaned it all from a stack of newspapers in someone's basement. wow.

the me-me-me brand of journalism i learned at espn? you have to be kidding me.

and, sportsbruh, you sure you're not bitter?

alma, the beauty of a message board is that i don't have to respond to every critic with a different opinion. i don't have to tell you why the woman's opinion is stupid. you already know it, but you're playing the SportsJournalists.com whitlock game...

Songbird asked if you are embarrassed by Scoop Jackson. And the thing I read (and comprehended) were YOUR WORDS: "Songbird, I'm gonna have to think about this before responding."

Now read that sentence and read what I wrote. I'd say I comprehended quite well.

And since I am posting, I'll give you another example of how well I comphrehend. You started this "war" with the guy, by leveling your bojangling charge. You have further gone on on this thread to define bojangling. I read that word--and your susbsequent definition--as an overt criticism that Scoop Jackson is an Uncle Tom. He smiles and dances (does he shine shoes?) like a bufoon for amused white people, who throw change in his cup. By definition, an Uncle Tom is an insult leveled at black people who are perceived by others as behaving in a subservient manner to white authority figures, or as seeking ingratiation with them by way of unnecessary accommodation. I see little difference between that and your explanation for what "bojangling" means.

Yet, after you essentially called the guy an Uncle Tom, he responded in the column that started this thread by calling your actions "black-on-black" crime. And in this thread you accused him of calling you an Uncle Tom for saying that. Black-on-black crime has nothing to do with a black person demeaning himself to ingratiate himself to white people. So I am not buying your characterization.

So you started with the guy, by calling him an Uncle Tom--the kind of shit that would make just about any other black guy I know want to kick your ass (even if he didn't act out on it). Scoop has every right in the world to be pissed. But he was actually kind of measured. He responded by calling your attack "black-on-black" crime, which given that you are both media personalities, was a more than fair assesment.

I agree. Scoop rose above the taunts and name calling. Scoop never sunk to Jason's level - and I guess that's saying alot since Scoop is perceived as being the thug. Jason is the one that STARTED all this friction. Jason is the one that initiated the first blow. Jason is the shit-starter.

Scoop moved on and became a better writer. Jason's likes to believe (ego) that it was his Name calling/shit-starting/black on black crime binge that initiated it.

Jason is the fat bitch without the coveted job.

Jason, Not sure what your problem is on this... You just quoted yourself:

    Now I'll quote myself:

I read what you wrote, understood what you wrote, and responded. I was mostly typing in jest. Not sure why this of all things would have you in a twist. I wrote what I really think about your "battle with Scoop Jackson" above. I'm sure you disagree. Feel free to tell me why.

  11. sportsbruh, why not thank me for helping scoop begin the process of writing like a grown-@$$ man? seriously.

spare the rod, spoil the child. it's tough love.

and no one views scoop as a thug. scoop is viewed as a tiny, middle-aged man who runs around jock-sniffing athletes half his age and pretending to be the hip-hop rebel voice of teenagers. it's a stale tired act that he and flavor flav have perfected.

    Hmmmm.

Guess it's a really good thing that you've never pretended to be the hip-hop rebel voice of teenagers.

Regardless of your treatment of me, I've been trying to take the high road on this and back you. And you say THAT kind of shit? Buh-rother.
