Screaming baby at ski resort -- who's right and who's wrong?

What, exactly, am I supposed to do with my son? Board him with the dog at the kennel?

We can't afford a babysitter. Our families live far away. We wouldn't burden our friends.

So, we're not "supposed" to go on vacation anywhere but to our families' houses until Junior no longer has the occasional screaming fit?

I'm betting on "ear infection" . Happens all the time from plane to
    high altitude climate.

This thread is full of people saying the parents of the screaming kid should've stayed home. Or, at very least, strongly implying it.

Sorry I used your quote as THE example. There are many to choose from.

There's a big difference between never going on vacation and taking your baby to a ski slope. Lots of stuff in between, too.

My beef is with the blogger column. Found it highly disingenuous.

Parents don't automatically forfeit the right to ANYTHING, though, just because their child will be in tow.

I mean, I've given up hoping that most people would actually be civil human beings about it, but there's plenty of room, almost everywhere, for everybody.

I wonder if the brain surgeon will be attending the wilderness medicine
conference at Snow Bird. Looks like a lot of fun.

I never know if you're trolling or just wrong, but this is WAY wrong. The minimum age for ski school is 3, but you can take the kids to the bunny hill yourself (or as Xan said, alternate runs). My son was up on skis at age 2 ***humblebrag***. Beyond that, you can take the kid to play in the snow around the lodge or just walk the village, as my wife did regularly when our daughter was 1.

Really anybody who is saying there isn't much to do for a baby at a ski resort has not been to a ski resort.

You must have married one of The Stepford wives if she was walking the village with
your 1 year old while you skied.

Sure you can do all the things you mentioned but the norm at major destination
Colorado ski resorts is to stick the babies in day care and the kids in ski school so mom
and dad can ski or dad can ski and mom can have some play time with Freq Poster.

It is not uncommon at all for kids to be on skis by age 2.

"The norm" does not mean "what everybody does." My wife doesn't like to ski, what can I say. She was able to eat lunch with the whole big group this way.

The point remains, you're being ridiculous (and now I'm leaning toward trolling).
