Because Jemele's blog about oral sex has so much to do with the point she's trying to make about black athletes being judged more harshly than white ones. I mean it totally changed my mind. Good work, Simon.

It's Simon jumping into the party six hours late, as usual, and not having much else to say. Not like we should be surprised or anything ...

    Fuck that!

It ain't a POINT she is making.

She's just slinging the race card like Odd Job's razor-brimmed hat. Yet again.

    And it fucking irritates me.

No, she's trying to make a legit point, whether you agree with it or not. There is a real issue with difference between how blacks and whites are viewed when they are victims of crime, but as usual, you'd rather throw fecal material agains the wall in the hope that it sticks.

Not 14, but I don't know if you are responding to the lyric or the machete comment. But still, to have a machete at your house for protection is not a great idea. If someone was to rob a millionaire, I think they would be bringing some kind of gun inside the house: unless he wants to go James Bond on them with the throwing knives, which I doubt. If it were me, I would have had myself a registered gun in the house, but then again, I probably would have been shot as well.

Amazing how much misinformation flies around in the first 24 hours.

Well then, yes, I know he said the lyric, but I don't know from where it orginiated. Probably the Revolutionary War. My point still remains about having a machete for protection.

I agree that the comment about the oral sex blog was out of line and had no business in this discussion, but I also think Hill is wrong to try to turn this into a racial debate. I'm not saying her points have no validity at all, but it is unfair of her to say that people are questioning Sean Taylor in light of this shooting because of the color of his skin. There are legitimate reasons to have questions about Taylor beyond race because of his own history and it is absolutely natural to wonder if the shooting might have something to do with his past troubles.

Let me say this.... a $900,000 house down there isn't exactly opulent digs.

Less-than-1,800-square-foot shacks are appraised for $500,000.

Why wasn't he with his teammates in Tampa?
