Funny you should mention Darryl Dawkins. I met him when he was coaching and running a USBL team. Seemed to be a decent guy.

But in the USBL draft one year, he took Jameer Nelson in the first round. Uh ... he was going to get to play a little higher-caliber ball.

No chance. I've probably saved enough glasses from friends at bars to make up for what Darryl Dawkins shattered.

Sweet. Here I was going to suggest just getting a block of the cheapies in center field but if a group rate will get us closer to the action (and the premium beer stand) inexpensively, I'm all for it.

    Go, Joe!

If it was NASCAR, you could bring your own beer. :D

Rates were way down when I checked today.
Still not as far down as I'd like.

Damn, it's not that far away, is it?

    My to-do list:
    1. Lose enough weight to look like a reasonable version of a person (hello crash diet; I don't have the metaphorical guts to go bulimic)

    2. Pray to God I don't act like a weirdo.

    3. Scout the primo coffee places -- though I most certainly will hit the original Starbucks because it's the touchstone for the modern coffeehouse, a Wailing Wall for us buzzfuckers. Hate on them as you will, but if it wasn't for them, the most exotic coffee most of us would have regular access to would be General Foods International Coffees.

    4. Pray to God I don't act like a jackass

    5. Figure out the best way to hock a loogie from the Needle

    6. Pray to God I don't act like a sheltered retard

    7. Order an Alex Rodriguez jersey to wear to the Mariners games

    8. Pray to God I don't develop any more neuroses between now and my flight.

    9. Pray to God that Delta doesn't stop existing betwen now and my flight.

    10. Lose some weight.

    The End.

I feel it's my responsibility to point out that in this town you cannot have both of those things. Not even if you're wearing the jersey to try to be ironic or funny. People here are polite, but they ain't that polite.
